Reserve Enters the 32 Chat with New 32-Inch 30|XC Rims and Wheelsets
There has been no shortage of 32 wheels, tires, frames, and forks to report on recently, and today, Reserve Wheels is jumping on board the big wheel bandwagon with its new 30|XC rims and wheelsets. Reserve says it believes 32 wheels are the latest performance revolution at the highest levels of XC racing, and theyre excited to provide a new option to support racers and riders using the increasingly popular wheel size. Lets take a look.32-Inch Reserve 30|XCLike many other brands, Reserve believes larger wheels offer performance benefits, including better rollover angle and a larger contact patch for more grip, resulting in a smoother ride with enhanced control. The brand tells us they designed the new 32-inch variant of the 30|XC to deliver the same level of stiffness and responsive ride-feel as the 29 version. Doing this involved more than just scaling up the 29 rim. They say they both reinforced and refined the rims profile to optimize its strength, weight, and performance in the 32 diameter. Reserve says the 28mm deep rim profile balances radial and lateral stiffness, while the 28-hole lacing helps deliver the desired ride-feel. The 30mm internal width is said to provide ample sidewall support and a large contact patch when used with the tires in the recommended 2 to 2.4 width range. Theyre being sold as a rim only, or in complete wheelsets with DT Swiss 350 hubs. The DT hubs have standard Boost 15x110mm front / 12x148mm rear axle spacing, a 6-bolt brake rotor interface, and options for the usual SRAM and Shimano freehub bodies.Like the brands other rims, the 32-inch 30|XC is backed by Reserves excellent Lifetime Warranty. If you break a Reserve rim or Fillmore valve while out riding, well replace it for free. Were available through email, chat, or by scheduling a video call.
