So as more and more builders craft new bikes around 32 wheels, it was logical to see Industry Nine step up to the plate. Now those big prototype wheels weve been following for a year or so, are also available to the general public. All you need is a 32 bike to fit them on!So how did they get there?Happy to help push the bike industry forward, i9 leaned on their We Are One composites team to create an all-new rim shape for the larger wheel diameter. They didnt want to just scale up a 29er design. So WR1 engineers leveraged their FEA experience to better understand how the larger wheel diameter would impact stiffness and compliance, and what they needed to do to match the ride feel modern 29er riders have come to love.The result is a wheel that carries the familiar impact strength and radial compliance of the proven 29 wheel, with minimal reduction in lateral stiffness expected from moving to a larger diameter. At the same time, 32 brings its own advantages: increased momentum, a shallower approach angle, and improved rollover through rough terrain.The resulting Hush 32 wheels opted for just 24 spokes front & rear.
