Crankworx Whistler Good Day Optics, Youth Protection, Custom Headset Caps and a Fiesta Bike!
A big part of Crankworx is walking from booth to booth hunting for new, incoming, or otherwise interesting products. This years expo was a bit lean, so this roundup will be our final coverage from Crankworx Whistler 2026.Below well check out goggles and sunglasses from Canadas Good Day Optics, and Dharcos incoming youth-sized chest/back protector. This years coverage caps off with custom headset caps from Whistler Cap Dealer, and a look at Johnny Salidos custom-painted Freeride Fiesta bike!Good Day OpticsBased in Edmonton, Alberta, Good Day Optics started in 2022, but weve never featured them on Bikerumor. They offer goggles and sunglasses intended for cycling, moto, and snow sports, and they encourage their customers to have fun customizing their eyewear. All their goggles feature easily interchangeable straps, and the company sells tons of straps with different graphics. The booth crew told me many customers will buy more than one strap for their goggles so they can match outfits or change up their look. The companys name has a story behind it; When the CEO, Jared Szuchs mother, was diagnosed with cancer, he brought her origami elephants with messages like Today is going to be a good day written on them. He also decided to name all his eyewear models after women who inspired him. MTB/Moto Goggles The Gracey, The Valorie, The MissyThis year, Good Day Optics collaborated with Crankworx Whistler to produce 150 pairs of their Gracey MTB goggle, featuring Crankworx graphics on the strap. The Gracey goggle features outriggers and a manual latch system to secure the easily swappable lens. This goggle has a wide cylindrical lens, and they are vented but designed to keep dust and dirt out.The Valorie goggle does not feature outriggers on the frames, but this model gets Maglock magnetic lenses that can be swapped in seconds. The Valorie lenses are cylindrical and include anti-fog coatings. These goggles offer a wide field of view, with taller lenses than the Gracey model. The Missy appears to offer the largest field-of-view of the three goggles, with huge lenses fitting into sleek, clean-looking frames. This model uses a dual magnet and latch system for securing or swapping lenses, and the frames have outriggers to ensure a solid fit with helmets. The Missys ventilation is designed to keep dust and trail debris out.Good Day Optics goggles offer photochromic, tinted, and clear lens options. Prices range from $110-167 depending on model and lens choice, and several different strap options are available for each model.MTB Sunglasses The Jenna, The StephThe Jenna is a lightweight, unisex half-frame sunglass intended for cycling, running, or snow sports. This model has been updated, now offering a larger lens with vents and improved grips to keep them secure. Frames come in Black or White, and interchangeable lens options include various tints, clear and photochromic. MSRP is $137 for all non-photochromic models or $160 with photochromic lenses. The Steph sunglass features an upper and lower frame, which has a highly adjustable nose piece. The lenses are vented, impact-resistant, and protect against UV rays. The Steph sunglasses also come in Black or White frames, and offer the same lens options as the Jenna. Prices are the same too, at $137 or $160 with a photochromic lens.Good Day Optics sunglasses and goggles are available through their website.Dharco Youth Chest/Back ProtectorDharco had one incoming piece of gear for groms at Crankworx Whistler. Apparently parents of young shredders have been asking for smaller sizes of Dharcos protective gear, so the brand decided to offer a youth-sized chest and back protector. The adult version of this product is called the Gravity Vest, so Ill bet this one will be named the Youth Gravity Vest. The protectors chest and back feature flexible and impact-reactive Rheon inserts, providing level 1 protection. The youth model uses Velcro to secure the straps, as its easier for kids to operate than the magnetic buckles found on the adult Gravity Vest. Kids also get a softer inner fabric, so the youth protector can be comfortably worn over bare skin. Dharcos youth chest/back protector is a 2027 product, but should be available this fall.Whistler Cap DealerHeadset caps are one of the most commonly customized bike components, as they sit right where you can always see them, and theyre an inexpensive finishing touch for your bike. Whistler Cap Dealer has been around for a few years now, and they had a bunch of their custom caps at Crankworx Whistler. The company also offers custom bar ends as well. Customers can choose from a selection of designs, add custom text, or even submit custom artwork for their own unique headset caps. Whistler Cap Dealer also sells colored aluminum or titanium bolts to match your cap.As seen above, Whistler Cap Dealer has produced custom headset caps for trail associations, guiding companies, events, bike shops, etc. Pre-made headset cap designs cost $19.95 and custom caps sell for $29.95. Bar ends range from $34.95-39.95 for stock graphics or $49.95 for customized sets. Please note prices are in CAD.Johny Salidos Freeride Fiesta bikeOne fun thing about Crankworx is seeing the custom painted bikes that show up around the village. This year there werent many, but Transition had Johny Salidos Freeride Fiesta bike at their booth. The bike features custom text, unique Mexican-themed graphics, and a pretty interesting treatment for the top tubeRunning down the top tube are a bunch of photos from previous years of the Freeride Fiesta! Apparently these are some of Salidos favorite pictures from the event. Its the first custom bike Ive seen that features photographs alongside painted graphics.
