State Bikes Launches Ti Track, a Sub $1600 Titanium Fixed-Gear Track Bike
Today, Arizonas State Bicycle Co. has added a new fixed-gear bike to its lineup. However, this one is different from the other track bikes in the line; its made of titanium. Introducing the new Ti Track. Its available as a standalone frame at only $999.99 or as a complete build starting at only $1,599.99. (Photos / State Bicycle)The Ti Tracks frame is constructed from Grade 9 (3Al/2.5V) straight-gauge titanium for the main tubes. Grade 5 (6Al/4V) titanium is used for the dropouts, bottom bracket, and headtube. A bicycle frame made of titanium translates to a frame that resists fatigue and corrosion over its lifetime. The Ti Tracks geometry allows for the use of up to a 38c tire. Thats much wider than what youd typically find on a track-style frame. Each tube on the frame is aero-formed by States production team. This technique helps to balance stiffness with ride quality. The new Ti Tracks build also includes a carbon fork to keep the overall weight down. And, the internal cable routing keeps things looking clean and tidy. If you prefer to run your track bike with brakes, its ok the Ti Track supports both front and rear rim brakes. Ti Track GeometryDetailed SizingOut of the box, the Ti Track is set up with a 4817 gear ratio, which is great for motorin around the urban jungle. The raw sandblasted finish with polished titanium logos gives it a low-key, clean aesthetic. With the new Ti Track, there are multiple component upgrade options. This means that riders can tailor the build to their preferences as time goes on, which is great.
