Organised by the UCI and organisers Flanders Classics, the UCI Cyclo-Cross World Cup is the marquee series of CX and a winter highlight for cycling fans, with thousands of spectators attending each round to witness riders racing across challenging courses, tackling grass, mud and obstacles. Most of these take place in CX's heartlands of Belgium and the Netherlands, and Glasgow will be just the second British host of the World Cup after Milton Keynes in 2014. The long absence, plus a wave of interest in elite cycling possibly accelerated by anticipation ahead of the 2027 Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes Grand Dparts being hosted in Britain, has meant demand for tickets has exceeded expectations.Contested across a total of 12 rounds, the 202627 CX World Cup kicks off on Friday 27 November in the Czech city of Ostrava, where competitors will race around a former mining site. Round takes place in Tbor, also in the Czech Republic, on Sunday 29 November, and then it's Scotland's turn. The highly anticipated third round will take place on Sunday 13 December in Kelvingrove Park, a 34-hectare Victorian park in Glasgows West End. When the location of the event was first announced, Cameron Mason, the four-time British cyclo-cross champion who hails from the nearby Scottish town of Linlithgow predicted that: Its going to be the biggest moment in my career. The last few tickets, which cost around 31.50 per adult (with concessions and family rates available) can currently be bought through Ticketmaster, but they are going fast. BC are working on the event with partners Event Scotland, Glasgow Life, and Flanders Classics. Darren Henry, managing director of British Cycling Ventures, said: "We are pleased to announce the final release of 3,000 tickets, as we look to welcome 15,000 passionate cycling fans to Glasgow. The response to ticket sales reinforces our ambition to build a diverse portfolio of world-class cycling events across multiple disciplines and showcases fans appetite for similar events and creating a memorable experience as we continue to look to grow cycling in the UK."0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 54 Visualizações

- BIKERUMOR.COMBH Ultralight <700g Road Bike is More Aero, Of Course Lighter & More AffordableBH updated their Ultralight road bike, once again making it more aerodynamic, even as they shave grams away. Now 11% lighter than its predecessor, at less than 700g for the frame. Plus, it also gets a 12% aero drag reduction, care of subtly refined Kamm tails & other tube shaping. The fact that its also quite a bit cheaper from the entry 105 level to the top-tier, UCI-illegal weight Dura-Ace level is simply icing on the cake. (Photos/BH)No more need to pick a lightweight climbers bike or an aerodynamic sprinters bike. Just get one Ultralight.2027 BH Ultralight and aerodynamic carbon road bikeThe new MY27 BH Ultralight looks pretty similar to the version they launched back in 2023 to upgrade the aerodynamic performance of their lightweight road bike. But this new one is both lighter and more aero, developed in CFD together with the University of the Basque Country (EHU). And its still as stiff as before, creating a solid all-rounder for fast riding whether heading to the mountains, sticking to the flats, or all the rolling terrain in between. What else is new?Dropping the frame under 700g makes the new BH Ultralight one of the lightest production bikes on the market these days. But there are other updates besides its improved aerodynamics, too. For one, BH finally gives the Ultralight bigger tire clearance. Officially, its only 32mm, because of the number of ultrawide rims out there. But they say that most 35mm tires will fit, with their required 6mm clearance between the frame & fork at its closest point. Theyve also refined the bikes geometry around a steep 74 seat tube angle for more forward weight balance. And BH claim new super short 405mm chainstays for faster acceleration and a more direct responsive ride feel. Although their geometry tables still show the same 410mm stays of the previous generation. The result is a bike that moves beyond the traditional concept of a pure climbing machine to embrace a much more versatile approach. The new Ultralight retains weight figures that place it among the lightest road bikes in its category, but now combines this advantage with more efficient aerodynamics, greater integration and clearance for wider tyres. It is designed to accelerate quickly on climbs, but also to maintain high speeds, tackle technical descents and compete effectively on a wide variety of routes.Tech detailshi-mod Toray T1100G carbon monocoque frameAir Bow aerodynamic tapered steer, full carbon forkHollow Core Internal Molding (HCIM) for ECL Evo carbon layupclaimed tire clearance up to 35mm (guaranteed max 32c tire clearance on wide rims)fully integrated internal cable routing through the headsetelectronic shifting onlyproprietary D-shaped aero seatpost with hidden wedge-style clampintegrated Planck taillight magnetically attaches to the post (included on top models)new lightweight, 55mm deep BH Evo Stealth aero carbon wheels (included on top models)PressFit BB386 EVO bottom bracketflat mount disc brakeslightweight machined 12mm thru-axles with integrated hidden leversUDH rear, removable front derailleur braze-on mountUCI-approved frame5 frame sizes (XS-XL)2027 BH Ultralight Pricing, options & availabilityThe new Ultralight is available on five stock frame sizes (XS-XL), three standard frameset colors (marbled red, crystalline white & raw black carbon), and the BH Unique custom paint program. Plus, the 8.0 adds BHs own new 1350g Evo Stealth 55mm deep, 23mm internal carbon wheels with aero-bladed carbon spokes and ceramic bearings.2027 BH Ultralight 9.0At the top-tier, the 8500 BH Ultralight 9.0 gets a Dura-Ace group, the BH Evo Stealth wheels, and the Planck taillight. - WWW.CYCLINGWEEKLY.COM'Remco's going to be really happy' Oscar Onley sees time trials as a 'main factor' in 2027 Tour de France routeNetcompany-Ineos rider Oscar Onley expects an increase in time trialling kilometres to be a main factor in deciding the 2027 Tour de France. Next summers route, unveiled in a presentation in Paris on Thursday, includes two individual time trials totalling 71km: 33km on stage seven between Blois and Chambord, and 38km on stage 16 around Toulouse. It is the most kilometres of time trials in a single Tour de France since the 2012 edition (96.1km) won by Bradley Wiggins.I think the time trials really stand out as a main factor, Onley told Cycling Weekly in Paris. Obviously, there are time trials every year in the Tour, but with two long, fairly flat TTs, I think that's something that's going to create different opportunities for riders and, I think, can create different scenarios. This Julys Tour opened with a team time trial in Barcelona. It also had a 26km individual time trial on stage 16, won by the discipline's world and Olympic champion, Remco Evenepoel (Red Bull-Bora-hansgrohe), who went on to finish second overall. I think for Remco, he's going to be really happy looking at that, Onley said of the 2027 routes time trials, especially with it being flat as well. He then has a greater advantage over the rest of the GC riders. For myself, I'm actually fairly confident because I know how much work the team put into TTs, and the work they've put into my TT set-up this year. I know they've already got plans for me this week to look at the TT set-up again. Four-time Tour winner Chris Froome, also speaking at the route presentation on Thursday, echoed Onleys thoughts. My first impression is that, of course, there are some really big mountain days, but what stood out was the time trial kilometres, he told Eurosport. I think thats partly because Tadej [Pogaar] has been so dominant in the mountains, so maybe now bringing more time trial kilometres maybe keeps the GC battle more alive for a bit longer.(Image credit: Charlie Forgham-Bailey/SWpix)Onley has emerged in Froomes wake as Britains strongest GC contender in recent years. Fourth overall at the Tour in 2025, the 24-year-old was ruled out of leading Netcompany-Ineos at the race this summer due to a shoulder injury. He then recovered to win the young riders classification at the Vuelta a Espaa with sixth place. Asked how his first season with the team has been, he said: I've really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, I've seen probably more of the medical staff than I'd like to, but the support they've given me throughout the whole year has been something that is really valuable.Next years Tour will start with three stages across Great Britain, with a Grand Dpart in Edinburgh. The opening stage bears particular sentimentality for Onley, whose home in Kelso, in the Scottish Borders, is only around 10km away from the route. I know almost the whole stage, he said. Other than maybe the last 10km into Carlisle, I've ridden every road there, so I'm really excited for it. These are the roads that I grew up training on.One road that stands out is the Cte de Melrose, a 2.2km climb at 6.7%, and the only KOM on stage one. I've done a lot of efforts up there and it's one of the climbs that I spent a lot of time on when I was younger riding around Kelso, Onley said. I've not really spoken to the team yet, but I am going to have to make a plan around [riding on home roads] because it's easy to kind of get carried away in the moment and it's probably the last thing you want to do on stage one of a Grand Tour. But I also want to take everything in. I'm not going to have this opportunity again in my career. So yeah, I really want to make the most of it. - WWW.CYCLINGWEEKLY.COM'This is weird to me' - Marlen Reusser calls out uneven naming of men's and women's Tour de FranceMovistar rider Marlen Reusser has called out the uneven naming of the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes as weird, suggesting it highlights an inequality between the sexes. The time trial world champion and former yellow jersey wearer attended the 2027 races' route presentation in Paris on Thursday, where all the stages were unveiled. Asked afterwards how she found the ceremony, she told the media: Its a nice event. What Im a bit disappointed [by] still is that its the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes. Where is the Tour de France Hommes? Like, this is weird to me. I dont understand this.In French, 'femmes' translates as women, and 'hommes' as men. Reusser also said she found the attention given to both races during the presentation to be disproportionate. We have two nice race directors, but I dont feel like theyre on the same level. Its more the mens director [on stage] that also has next to him the womens, she said. I think the Tour is doing so great, showing that there is not only mens sport. We speak a lot about it, but we just should do it more. I wish these little steps to come when we speak about the presentation and the whole thing. On stage during the ceremony, womens race director Marion Rousse praised the fact that both events will enjoy three-day Grand Dparts in the same country for the first time next year, something she said was a good message of equality. Rousse later responded to Reussers comments, saying it was not really the case that the ceremony portrayed the womens race as less important. Obviously the men's presentation is going to be longer because there are 21 stages against nine, she said. Cycling Weekly asked mens race director Christian Prudhomme for his response to Reusser's comments about the put Reussers comments about the unequal race names. The Tour de France is a major race that has been running since 1903. The Tour is the Tour, and were absolutely delighted that theres another race: the Tour de France Femmes, he said. The Tour, in fact, is a single event in two parts. We dont talk about the mens Roland Garros and the womens Roland Garros we just talk about Roland Garros. For us, the only issue is that we cant run both events at the same time. Its impossible. Its not like a tennis match where you play to the right and then to the left. When I launched the [Tour de France Femmes] five years ago with Marion Rousse, I said, Long live the Tour. Long live the Tours. I was actually wrong shes competitive. I dont hold it against her because in fact, its the Tour. The strength of this event, the womens event, is the Tour de France. And the Tour de France Femmes is good for womens sport. Above all, its good for the Tour, full stop. The mens race will begin in Edinburgh on 2 July next year, four weeks before the womens starts in Leeds on 30 July.
