'Cost of equipment can be a real barrier' wheel donation programme comes to UK's Cyclopark
Early nights, a sensible diet and long hours in the saddle required, anyone who has raced a bike knows that it's no easy sport to dedicate yourself to. But there's another hurdle too one that affects some more than others: cost. For seven years, US wheel manufacturer Boyd Cycling has been refurbing and donating customers' unwanted wheels to young riders and now, in conjunction with the Kent Cyclopark Charity, it's bringing that philanthropic strategy to UK shores. The strategy operates annually throughout each October, and acts as a kind of part-exchange deal, with those donating wheels benefiting too: those who trade in their old wheels, either in a Boyd retailer or online, receive a 20% discount when buying new Boyd wheels.Boyd Cycling says customers can trade in any wheelset, irrespective of brand, or model. The company will then service as required before donating to young cyclists. Those trading in their wheels will have them assessed for suitability and serviceability in the first instance, and Cyclopark will then carry out any work that needs doing before passing them on to young riders. The riders benefiting from the wheels will mostly be those patronising Cyclopark in the U12 up to U23 categories, across both cyclo-cross and road racing disciplines.Cyclopark and its accompanying charity provides a mostly self-funded space for riders of all ages to race and ride at Gravesend, Kent. As well as the road circuit itself, the venue features a cafe, BMX pump track and MTB trails, and six fitness studios.Cyclopark's CEO Jonny Hamp said in a statement: Every day we see the difference cycling can make in young people's lives here at Cyclopark Charity. Its about much more than riding a bike. Its building confidence, making friendships, developing new skills and feeling part of a community. We know that the cost of equipment can be a real barrier, especially for young riders.Thats why were really pleased to be working with Boyd Cycling on this fantastic initiative. By giving quality equipment a second life, were helping to create opportunities for the next generation of cyclists, ensuring that enthusiasm and potential, rather than financial circumstances, determine how far they can go."

DT Swiss F132 Gravel Suspension Forks Add Several New Aftermarket Options, Lower Price
We knew from the beginning last year, when they debuted in a collaboration with Canyon, that aftermarket DT Swiss F132 gravel suspension forks were in the pipeline. We even had a hint of broader availability when we first spied the fork more than two years ago. And now they are here, offering two new damper spec & pricing levels, plus 3 different offset options to perfectly fit the geometry of your latest gravel bike.Aftermarket DT Swiss F132 40mm gravel suspension forks(Photo/Cory Benson)The biggest news here is that any DT Swiss gravel suspension fork is finally available without a bike. Until now, you could only get one that came OEM on a new bike first Canyon, then others like Litespeed, Obed, 3T, and a few others. To make that happen, DT Swiss first developed 3 different crowns to offer 3 offsets so the fork would work with more gravel bikes on the market. (Photos/DT Swiss)But then, to make it something they could sell to consumers and be sure everyone ended up on the correct offset, DT also developed an easy-to-use Gravel Fork Offset Selector online tool on their website. There, you enter in key geometry about your bike frame, and it will show you which offset is the best fit for your bike. And what the other offsets would do to your bikes handling. The other big change is the introduction of a simpler, cheaper version without a remote lockout. While many gravel riders (and most racers) swear by a physical lockout being a necessity, many more adventure-focused riders dont. For one thing, the short-travel DT F132 doesnt tend to bob as much as other suspension forks. And, its hard to argue with the cheaper model lowering the price by 36%, while only adding an extra 40g weight penalty.Tech Details40mm gravel-tuned suspension travel700c x 50mm max tire clearance32mm stanchions and reverse arch lowers1.5 tapered steerer435mm axle-to-crown length45mm, 50mm & 56mm fork offset options (compared to 45-51mm for Fox & RockShox gravel forks)LineAir SL positive and negative air springsemi-integrated brake routing (for fully integrated routing through the headset)12x100mm thru-axleFM160 flat mount brake, compatible with 160mm or 180mm rotorsoptional bikepacking adapters add 3-bolt cage mounts (max 3kg load per side)max 130kg rider+bike+gear system weightebike approvedF132 OneDT Swiss F 132 ONEPlainGain hydraulic damping cartridge, with external rebound damping controlPushControl remote lockout1340g claimed weight (without RWS axle, remote, or cable)F132DT Swiss F 132OpenFlow hydraulic damping cartridge (non-adjustable)no remote lockout1380g claimed weight (without RWS axle)DT Swiss gravel fork Pricing, options & availabilityNow that DT Swiss gravel suspension forks are available aftermarket, you can pick from either the top-tier F132 One, or the more basic F132.The DT Swiss F132 One, with its top-level damping system and excellent remote lockout lever, sells for $1270 / 1150. The simplified DT F132, which does not have a lockout, sells for $894 / 809.
