- BIKERUMOR.COMPrint Your Own Bike Parts at Home with Pademelons SIDE QUEST 3D FilesWhen Pademelon started SIDE QUEST as a secondary brand under the Pademelon name, their goal was simple: design and 3D print specialized parts and accessories to solve very specific trail-side problems. But lately, the Australian brand thats known for its Steering Damper has come across another problem, and today, they open their digital vault to solve it.(Photos / Pademelon)It seems that riders who are outside of Australia are getting nailed with crazy international shipping fees when ordering SIDE QUEST products. In their words, Spending $15 AUD on a smart, protective component makes perfect sense but spending double or triple that amount to fly a lightweight piece of TPU across the world does not. To solve that problem, SIDE QUEST opened its digital vault. So you can now purchase and download their proprietary STL fabrication files straight from their site.Open the Digital VaultSIDE QUEST has been receiving a lot of requests to release their digital fabrication files. The brand had never even thought about opening up its proprietary files to share. Physical products have always been their thing, so it never occurred to them. After a few customers asked about buying the files, they started setting up an infrastructure to help deliver clean digital assets. What About Pricing?SIDE QUEST wanted to be direct when they talked about the pricing. They know these files are not cheap, and they are not free. They also know that there are a lot of riders who expect 3D print files to be open-source. But the shapes of the SIDE QUEST parts represent extensive product development time including real-world testing on the rowdiest trails in Tasmania, which spawned several design iterations. So, SIDE QUEST wants you to know that when you purchase a file, you are paying for the engineering expertise that ensures the part actually works when the trail gets rough. Thats fair.SIDE QUEST Digital File CostsUnder Guide: $11Pump Mount: $11 (NEW)Trail Tray: $8DH Plate V2: $11Enduro Plate: $11 Youll notice the new next to the Pump Mount. Well, its a brand new file that was just launched. Its like their existing pump mount thats specifically for the Santa Cruz frames that are equipped with a Glovebox. This Pump Mount utilizes the same secure, mechanical design. Its engineered to fit the OneUp Components Everyday Carry (EDC) 70cc pump. But, but theyve adapted the mounting interface to drop perfectly into Specialized frames utilizing SWAT 2.0 doors. No rattling, no loose tools, and zero international shipping delays. Nice. Respecting the CraftPademelon wants you to know that when you access the files on their website, youll see a digital asset license check box on the product page. They said the terms are literal, simple, and completely non-corporate:Personal use only:Absolutely no digital file sharing and no commercial sale of physical prints. No refunds:Due to the nature of digital delivery, all asset sales are final.Rider accountability:You accept full responsibility for your own print calibration, machine operation, and tool safety. For more info or to download your own files, hit the link below.Pademelon.ccThe post Print Your Own Bike Parts at Home with Pademelons SIDE QUEST 3D Files appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 23 Visualizações

- BIKERUMOR.COMDevinci Powers Up for E-Enduro Shredding with the New E-SpartanWhile there is an appeal to lite or SL class eMTBs for some riders, it makes sense for Devinci Cycles to release a full power E-Spartan. If the bike itself is a capable machine with plenty of suspension squish, which the Spartan certainly is, why not give it a big motor and battery for all-day shredding? The new E-Spartan is a long travel enduro eMTB built for rough terrain, and with a powerful motor and 800Wh battery its now able to ride rowdy trails all day long. Last year, BikeRumor reviewed the E-Spartan Lite, which offered impressive ride qualities, but its 400Wh battery didnt provide a huge range. The new E-Spartan is a bit heftier, but I suspect many eMTB riders will accept that in exchange for more power and ride time per charge.2027 Devinci E-Spartan Frame FeaturesAll E-Spartan frames are made from Optimum G04 6061-T6 aluminum. Devinci says aluminum offers an ideal balance of durability, stiffness, and strength-to-weight ratio. Hailing from a region of Quebec known for aluminum production, the E-Spartans are designed, tested, and made in Canada. Built for enduro riding, the E-Spartan offers 165mm of rear travel and all models come with 170mm forks. This bike runs MX wheels only. The E-Spartan features Devincis Split-Pivot suspension platform, but its linkage has been optimized for eMTBs. Devinci moved the main pivot 5 mm higher, which adjusts the bikes anti-squat for ideal performance with the motors assistance. Accounting for the motors influence and the eMTBs added weight, the optimized linkage reduces unwanted suspension movement to ensure pedalling efficiency, while maintaining reliable traction and small-bump sensitivity.E-Spartan frames fit metric Trunnion-mount shocks; the rocker link requires no spacers, and the shock rotates on bearings for smooth action. Devinci uses Enduro double-lip sealed bearings in their frames. The linkages progressive leverage ratio was designed to work well with either air or coil shocks. On the GX AXS build, Devinci set up the E-Spartan with one nifty feature they introduced on the Lite model: the rear derailleur is powered by the bikes main battery. This eliminates any concerns about your derailleur battery dying, and if you drain your main battery, the system cuts off assist power and saves a little juice so you can still shift gears. Like other Devinci MTBs the E-Spartans get internal cable routing, with clean, simple straight entry ports at the head tube. Since this bike is meant for the rough stuff, it gets an upper chain guide included.Key fitments include a Boost 148mm rear axle, SRAM UDH compatible dropouts, and clearance for up to 2.6 rear tires. All frame sizes can fit a 650ml water bottle or larger (with a reservoir shock) on the down tube. The frame accepts 31.6mm seatposts. Stock dropper post lengths are: 150mm/small, 170mm/medium, 200mm/large. The GX AXS model gets a 230mm post for its XL size, while the other two models get 200mm posts on XLs.To fend off rocks and paint damage, the E-Spartan comes with a chainstay protector, and between the lower down tube protector and shuttle guard, almost the entire downtube is shielded. The motor also has its own Nylon shield, which is vented to drain water and let heat escape.Complete bike weight is listed at 54.72 lbs (size medium, GX AXS model) or 55.16 lbs (medium, Eagle 90). Weight for the Deore model is not yet available.Drive SystemProviding the E-Spartans assist is a 5th generation Bosch Performance Line CX motor. This motor offers a maximum 120Nm of torque and 750W peak power. The motor is powered by an 800Wh Bosch PowerTube 800 battery. The E-Spartan frame does not offer a quick battery removal option; Devinci prefers the integrated design, which reduces the weight of the frame. The in-frame charge port is located on the non-drive side, just in front of the motor. All models of the E-Spartans come with a 4A charger, which charges the battery fully in 3.5 hours or gets to 50% in 1.5 hours. If 800Wh isnt enough battery capacity for you, the bike is also compatible with Boschs PowerMore 250Wh range extender.Boschs mini remote handlebar controller provides your main controls in a small, ergonomic package. The System Controller display mounted in the bikes top tube shows your battery life, assist mode, houses the power button, and can also be used to switch between assist levels.Of course youre not stuck with factory configurations. Boschs eBike Flow App allows customization of settings, plus software updates, ride tracking, and syncing with Strava, among other features.GeometryThe E-Spartan keeps things simple with fixed geometry There are no flip-chips and no chainstay length adjustment (like Devinci gave the current Spartan).Key angles include a slack 63.5 head tube and seat tube angles ranging slightly from 77.8-77.4 depending on frame size. Reach numbers are a bit conservative at 456mm for a medium and 478mm for a large.Chainstays lengths are the same for all frame sizes at 438mm. While some of Devincis MTBs do come with proportional chainstays, the E-Spartans frame does not allow for a similar adjustment of pivot locations. Consequently, Devinci decided to hone in on the best fixed length for this bike. After extensive testing with riders on different frame sizes, they found the 438mm stays keep the bike feeling lively, responsive and snappy through corners without sacrificing stability or traction.
