Who will be wearing the coolest jerseys this Tour de France? The new national champions of course, and here they are
Some of the best-looking jerseys you'll see this year in the Tour de France won't be those worn by classification leaders, or even just plain old team members they'll be on the backs of the peloton's new national champions. The weekend just gone saw road championships held across the northern hemisphere, with the national tunics being swapped between riders in most cases. Not all of those riders will make the Tour de France selection for their teams of course, but plenty will, and we could see nearly a dozen national champions taking the start line in Barcelona on Saturday. It's always a great honour for a rider to be able to wear their national champion's colours at a race like the Tour and they'll show them off with pride. Whether some of the team sponsors will be quite so pleased is debatable, with the champion's tops generally watering down the sponsorship somewhat.Among the new road champions who have already been confirmed as riding in Le Grand Boucle are new Tadej Pogaar's Mexican teammate at UAE Team Emirates-XRG Isaac Del Toro, new French champ Romain Grgoire (Groupama-FDJ United), Germany's Felix Engelhardt (Jayco-AlUla), George Bennett of New Zealand (NSN Cycling), Denmark's Magnus Cort (Uno-X Mobility) and his Norwegian teammate Anders Skaarseth and finally new Kazakh champion Nicolas Vinokourov (XDS-Astana).These seven are the riders that have been confirmed, but there are likely to be others, not least new British champion Fred Wright (Pinarello-Q36.5) and Quinn Simmons of the USA (Lidl-Trek). Simmons's teammate and new Czech champ Mathias Vacek could be there too, and Egan Bernal, who won the Colombian champs back in February, remains a possible for Netcompany-Ineos.The new road champions aren't the only riders who will be sporting national champs' jerseys over the coming three weeks there are also the time trial champions, who get to wear their own national colours during the Tour's two races against the clock: the stage one team time trial in Barcelona, and stage 16's lumpy ITT on the shores of Lac Leman. So far those riders are set to include Italian TT don Filippo Ganna (Netcompany-Ineos), Spain's Pablo Castrillo (Movistar), Germany's Nils Politt and Austria's Felix Groschartner at UAE Team Emirates-XRG, making it three national champs helping out race favourite Pogaar, and there's also Netcompany-Ineos's Polish stalwart Micha Kwiatkowski and Eric Kirsch of Luxembourg and Cofidis.

HydraPaks New Fuel Kit Organizes Your Ride Nutrition
If youre serious about ride fueling and/or nutrition, HydraPak has created a new Fuel Kit to keep your essential supplies organized and ready. Sure, you can just throw a bunch of chews or snacks into a random bag and haul your drink mixes in Ziploc bags, but HydraPak wanted to offer a more refined system for keeping these items together and well organized. The Fuel Kit isnt just a carrying case; It also includes handy tools for mixing drink powders, and two reusable Fuel Packs for carrying various types of nutrition as you ride. The kit is useful for everyday riders, but could be a great asset for teams or family members supporting athletes as they race. HydraPak Fuel KitThe Fuel Kit is a durable zippered case designed to carry all the necessary supplies for organizing and preparing your ride fuels, nutrition and/or snacks. The kit includes a Fuel Scoop and a Fuel Funnel to help you mix drink powders easily, and a catch tray to grab any spillage so you can save every grain for the next ride. The Fuel Funnel is collapsible for easy storage, and it hooks onto drink mix bags to make pouring easier. Also included are two large FuelPacks. These are reusable roll-top pouches, designed to carry powders, chews, gummies, trail mix or pretty much anything else. Since the versatile FuelPaks work with all types of ride fuels, the Fuel Kit could be an ideal accessory for anyone preparing for a spirited afternoon ride, a marathon training effort, or a day of racing. In addition to carrying the above accessories, the case leaves extra space for hauling bulk nutritional products and other essential race day items. If you happen to do any running as well as cycling, this kit is equally suitable for that too.HydraPak will also offer 150ml and 250ml Fuel Flasks separately. Designed for nutrition products, these potential add-ons feature interchangeable caps that accommodate different fuel viscosities.*Images c. HydraPakHydrapaks new Fuel Kit will be available in July. Juan Ayuso leads stacked Lidl-Trek line-up for the Tour de France
Juan Ayuso will lead a stacked Lidl-Trek team into battle at the Tour de France this July. The 23-year-old Spaniard will be able to call on some highly capable support in the form of repeat US champion Quinn Simmons and Mathias Skjelmose, who was sixth on GC at the recent Tour Auvergne-Rhne-Alpes. They will be ably supported by Mathias Vacek, who won the youth classification at the recent Tour de Suisse, and Derek Gee-West, who finished fifth at the Giro d'Italia in May.The German-registered team also has firepower for the sprints and the breakaways, with Mads Pedersen making a return to the race after opting to ride the Giro d'Italia and the Vuelta a Espaa last season instead. Toms Skujin also rides, while Spain's Carlos Verona completes the squad. The team's Tour tilt will be based around a GC bid by Ayuso. He has previously finished on the podium at the Vuelta a Espaa, in 2022 and 23, but his only other Tour de France participation saw him quit due to illness. His season so far has been one of mixed fortunes, crashing out of Paris-Nice and then quitting Itzulia Basque Country the following month, in part due to the lingering effects of the crash. Most recently at the Tour Auvergne-Rhne-Alpes a key Tour de France warm-up Ayuso demonstrated that he is coming into the Tour on good form with a third-placed GC finish behind winner Isaac Del Toro and runner-up Luke Tuckwell.More to follow...

Orange teases Avinox-equipped Patriot alongside 32in Clockwork concept with XC and gravel ambitions
Orange has given us a glimpse of an unreleased late-stage prototype Patriot eMTB equipped with Avinox's powerful M2S motor and featuring 175mm of rear-wheel travel. The Patriot prototype, which shares a similar brutalist design to the Bosch-equipped model released a couple of years ago, is said to feature a refined tube profile and geometry. It was on show at Eurobike 2026. The head angle has shifted from an already slack 63 degrees to 62.5 degrees, with the seat tube angle steepening to 78 degrees from 76 degrees to assist with climbing. Up front, the bike features an older Fox Factory 38 fork with 180mm of travel, while a new Factory Float X2 shock sits in the frame. It looks as though the bike still uses Orange's Strange Power Link, which gave the previous bike a progressive shock curve so we expect coils to be compatible with the new bike. The final bike will be "basically as pictured" when it launches, according to Orange. Nick Clark / Our Media MX, or mullet wheels, are used, with no option to run a 29in setup. Avinox's M2S motor powers the bike, providing 150Nm of torque and 1,500W of peak power. An 800Wh battery is stored in the down tube. Orange also displayed a 32in Clockwork frame at Eurobike. Nick Clark / Our Media Alongside the new Patriot, Orange displayed a 32in Clockwork that appears to have ambitions to be a cross-country bike or gravel bike. Strange is Orange's Special Technology Range. Nick Clark / Our Media The bike features a colourway that's a throwback to earlier Orange models and appears to have a 64.5-degree head angle, according to the mock-up blueprints on the Orange stand at Eurobike. There doesn't seem to be huge clearance between the rear tyre and the seat tube. Nick Clark / Our Media While Orange couldn't say when we should expect the Strange bike, the Patriot will be available at Factory spec level in early September, priced at 9,500 / $12,500 / 11,000.
