- WWW.BIKERADAR.COMReims announced as host to the 2028 Tour de France Grand DpartThe Tour de France has just announced that the 2028 men's race will start in Reims on 24 June, heading out into the champagne vineyards and followed by four stages in the Grand Est region of France. The start date is a little earlier than normal, as the Tour has been rescheduled to avoid clashing with the Los Angeles Olympic Games. According to Tour director Christian Prudhomme: The region has all the key assets needed to host the event, from demanding roads and jaw dropping landscapes to an inspirational heritage. The Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift visted Reims in 2022. Jeff Pachoud / Getty Images With the 2026 Tour starting in Barcelona in Spain and the 2027 edition of the men's and women's races in the UK, it was time for a Grand Dpart from French soil, not least because the UCI mandates how many times in a row a race can start outside its home country and the Tour has already racked up 11 foreign starts since 2010. Prudhomme has announced the start and end towns for the first three stages, with the first stage heading out from in front of Reims cathedral and finishing in Charleville-Mzires. That will be followed by a stage starting in pernay, home to many champagne houses. It will finish in Metz in the Moselle department, which was part of the German Empire the first time the Tour visited in 1907, its first excursion outside France. Finally, theres a stage from Thionville to Verdun, a flashpoint in the First World War. Although the route hasnt been announced, it has the potential to take in the hilly Parc Naturel Rgional de Lorraine. The start location for the 2028 Tour de France Femmes is yet to be disclosed.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 58 Visualizações

- BIKERUMOR.COMVideo: More than an Old Map: Riding the Old Ghost Road (and a new Tallboy spotting)Follow along with Santa Cruz athletes Ben Hildred and Ruth Holcomb in this compelling 19-minute mountain bike film. The pair tackle the Old Ghost Road on New Zealands South Island. Completed in 2015, the Old Ghost Road is an 85 km singletrack traversing the mountains between the towns of Lyell and Seddonville. Sit back and enjoy the story, scenery, and riding, and add this ride to your bucket list. Also, be sure to check out what appears to be the unreleased next generation of the Santa Cruz Tallboy.New Tallboy?Rumors of a new Tallboy have been circulating for a while. Some spy shots of an unknown short-travel Santa Cruz bike were going around just a couple of weeks ago. Now, even Santa Cruz seems to be showing its cards with what is very obviously labeled as a Tallboy, but clearly is not the same as the version thats been around since 2022. The biggest difference is that this new frame has a 4-bar, or Horst Link, suspension layout, which is a significant change from the previous version(s) lower-link VPP.It says Tallboy on the seat stay, but the 4-bar suspension is clearly a new design. For a very quick refresher, the Tallboy has been a staple in the Santa Cruz lineup since 2009. The first version came out when 29ers were just gaining traction, and brands were still trying to figure out how to design bikes around bigger wheels. It has undergone several major updates over the years, reaching its current, wildly popular form, known as the Tallboy 5, in 2022. It hasnt been updated in four years, so its obviously due for a refresh, and that looks like what well be learning more about in the near future. As mentioned above, Santa Cruz has hung its hat on its VPP suspension design for many years, and it was employed on the previous two generations of the Tallboy. Now, perhaps building on the success (and praise) of the 4-bar suspension Vala and Bullit eMTBs, it appears the brand is moving to that layout on the Tallboy, too. Beyond that, it still appears to be a shorter travel bike, probably getting 120 or 130mm of rear wheel travel. The Pike fork travel options are 120, 130, or 140mm, so front travel has to land somewhere in the range, probably 130 or 140mm. Otherwise, were excited to learn more about what looks like an exciting new model from Santa Cruz. Well fill you in when we know more. The post Video: More than an Old Map: Riding the Old Ghost Road (and a new Tallboy spotting) appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 40 Visualizações
