- BIKERUMOR.COMIntroducing Sweet Protections New Deckard MTB GogglesWe caught a glimpse of Sweet Protections new Deckard MTB Goggles at Sea Otter, and now theyve officially hit the market. The Deckard is the brands top-tier MTB goggle built for aggressive enduro, bike park, and downhill riding. According to Sweet Protection, these goggles were designed to help you see clearly when the world is moving fast around you.Not surprisingly, theyve been designed to pair seamlessly with Sweet Protections Fixer 2Vi MIPS and Strayer 2Vi MIPS full face helmets. Those helmets recently received the top rankings from the Virginia Tech Helmet Test Lab for full face models. Now, you can pair them with the Deckard MTB goggles for a precise and stable fit and a wide field of view. The Deckard MTB Goggles were designed to pair perfectly with Sweets full face helmets.Sweet says they designed the goggles shape, outriggers, and strap to line up perfectly with their full-face helmet models. This creates a goggle and helmet system, of sorts, which eliminates any gaps or pressure points when paired together. And when fit, comfort, and stability combine, you can dedicate all of your focus on whats coming down the trail. If you have another brand of helmet, were willing to bet theyll probably work with that, too, even if the fit isnt quite as precise. The Deckard frame is made of durable TPU with an injected lens panel. Triple-layer face foam ensures on-the-face comfort, while open mesh ventilation ports promote airflow while keeping dust and debris at bay. The strap is connected to outriggers, which optimize the goggles position in the opening of the helmet and on your face. The Deckard MTB goggles come equipped with a 2.8mm sculpted cylindrical lens. The current lens options appear to be clear or the mirrored RIG Reflect. RIG is what Sweet Protection calls its contrast-enhancing lens technology. The RIG Topaz lens (orange reflective coating) comes standard on the RIG Reflect version of the goggles, and Sweet also sells a RIG Bixbite lens, which has more of a purple reflective coating. For those who ride in sloppy conditions, the Deckard is tear-off ready, too.The Sweet Protection Deckard comes in three versions. The standard Deckard MTB Goggle comes with a black frame, black strap, and clear lens, and retails for $160. The Emil Johansson Signature model has a white frame, a white strap w/Emils graphic, a clear lens, and a $170 price tag. The Deckard RIG Reflect has a white frame and a white strap and comes with the RIG Topaz lens for $180.Specs and FeaturesRobust MTB Goggle with OutriggersRIG lens technology: developed by Sweet Protection to provide superior contrast, minimum color distortion, and reduced eye fatigue (or clear lens)TPU FrameInjected lens panelTriple-Layer Face FoamOpen mesh ventilation ports ensure optimal airflow while protecting your eyes and helping you maintain focus by keeping out projectiles such as dust, dirt, and small rocksIn-Molded Strap BucklesEasy to Change LensEasy to Change Goggle StrapsPerfect Fit for Fixer 2Vi Mips Helmet and Strayer 2Vi Mips HelmetTear-Off Ready (sold separately!)Sweet Protection Deckard MTB Goggles: AvailabilityThe new Sweet Protection Deckard MTB Goggles are available now. - IRISHCYCLE.COMNew RSA map praised as vital tool which represents so many tragic eventsRoad Safety Authority officials have published an updated online interactive map and its source data for the first time in over a decade. Its a move welcomed after years of the authority being slow for years to share data, claiming there were legal issues in doing so.The map, at rsa.ie/road-safety/statistics/collisions, includes fatal, serious and minor injury collisions on public roads between 2016 and 2024. The data is based on injury collision information collected by the Gardai, which the RSA is responsible for sharing.Users can filter the data by county, local authority area, year and collision severity type of road user is not available in the interactive map, but it is included in the source data, and it is understood that third parties will be making this available in other mapping tools.Finola ODriscoll, senior programme manager with the active travel section of the National Transport Authority, said: The RSA has today published an interactive national road collisions map covering the period 20162024. For those of us working in sustainable travel and road safety, its a vital tool to inform better design and investment decisions.Commenting on the release of the map on LinkedIn, she added: This resource represents so many tragic events in so many peoples lives. The value is now how this data can be used to inform interventions and designs and improve safety on our streets and roads. In a press release, Sean Canney, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, said: This new interactive collision map will provide communities, researchers and local authorities with valuable information about where road traffic injury collisions are occurring across the country. Access to reliable location data is essential in helping us better understand collision trends and identify areas where further road safety measures may be required. He added: Ultimately, this resource will support evidence-based decision making as we continue working to reduce deaths and serious injuries on our roads.Michael Rowland, director of research at the RSA, said: The RSA has a statutory remit to report on fatal, serious and minor injury collisions on public roads. This new map represents an important step in making collision location data more accessible and transparent for the public and stakeholders. It will be a valuable tool for researchers, road safety advocates and local authorities.0 Commentarios 0 Acciones 82 Views
- WWW.BIKERADAR.COM"Worry less and ride more": New bike theft tracker shows you where is safe to leave your bike in real timeBicycle lock and security company Litelok has launched a Theft Intelligence feature on its global website. The feature enables cyclists, along with motorcyclists and scooter riders to explore in real-time continuously updated data showing where thefts are occurring. The tool has extensive information for the UK, Germany, France, the Netherlands, USA, and an overall global view. Litelok says the feature aims to help riders better understand risk patterns, so they know where and when to be most vigilant when parking their bikes. Litelok founder, Neil Barron, says: We built this to help riders stay informed about bike theft activity and locations; and to share it around. If an area has no reported hotspot or story on the map, it should not be assumed to be free from risk. Our mission is for riders to worry less and ride more. What to do if your bike is stolen: 4 steps to follow New report highlights Met Police's inaction on bike thefts in London as an estimated 40,000 bicycles stolen annually Multiple sources You can see live theft data from most major USA cities.
