- BIKERUMOR.COMTadej Pogaars Race-Ridden Colnago V5Rs Sells for 70,000Tadej Pogaars Colnago V5Rs from the 2025 Ardennes Classics just sold for a staggering 70,000 at auction. No joking you can see the final sale and bike here.(All Photos/BikeRoom)More Than A Bike On paper, this is just another WorldTour race bike. A Colnago V5Rs, raced at one of the most demanding one-week stretches in cycling, ridden by arguably the best rider in the world. But thats not really what was being sold here.Bikeroom (the auction house selling the bike) leaned hard into presenting it as something closer to a piece of art than a used race machine. The whole campaign (which you can see here) framed it more like a museum object, right down to involving former pro Matt Stephens as an art critic of sorts. They even had Matt Stephens filming at the Museo del Ghisallo to give the bike some historical and cultural context. A lot more fireworks than a used crit-dream bike on your local marketplace. For sure, its a bit tongue-in-cheek, but clearly, it worked. The Race Auction: Late Bids, Real DemandLike any good race, the auction itself had a bit of drama.Multiple bids came in late, enough to extend the auction window more than once. By the time it closed, the final number was 70,000, with 44 bids from nine unique bidders. The winning bid came from Switzerland. Its not hard to see why. Unlike team-issued bikes that quietly rotate out of service, this one was fully authenticated alongside Colnago, restored to post-race condition (not really stoked to hear that, I would much rather the dirty bike of the win), and tied directly to Tadej Pogaar during one of the most iconic race blocks of the season. Its even got a cool Tadej-only ceramic bottom bracket! That kind of provenance matters, especially if youre a collector.Race Bikes But VerifiedBikeroom is clearly trying to carve out a space here. Take high-end bikes (especially those with real race history) and turn them into verified, authenticated pieces that buyers can trust.Because historically, thats been the problem. Race bikes have always trickled into the secondary market, but rarely with full documentation or a clear story attached. This changes that.BikeRoom gave us the details, and over 130,000 users hit the auction page, and more than a million in combined reach. Theres clearly interest beyond just the final buyer. I love checking the page just to see whats out there. Secretly, Im waiting for a Zdenk tybar Pink S-Works Bunny Hopper (World Champion cyclocross frame to show up. This road bike replica kit is fully functional and meticulously detailed, from the working drivetrain to the removable water bottle and rear light. Its also aero-optimized with deep-section wheels, bladed fork legs, and a modern design that looks kinda like a Colnago Y1Rs, to be honest. There are 1,015 pieces in the Icons Road Bike kit. Enterprise and classic cars to Transformers and the Space Shuttle, Lego Icons appear to be aimed squarely at adults. In fact, they are all intended for users 18 and older. Im in my late 40s, and I havent played with Legos in many years, but I definitely got a little nostalgic surfing around on the Lego website. And now they drop a Lego bike? Take my money!I hope it comes with a pre-waxed chain. The Icon Road Bike frame is made of plastic, of course, and Lego went all in on the details to make it as realistic as possible. That includes front-wheel steering and a functional drivetrain with a freewheel mechanism that allows you to backpedal or let the rear wheel spin on the stand. It has deep-section aero rims, rubber tires with road optimized tread, a derailleur, disc brake calipers and rotors, clipless pedals, shifters, and the aforementioned bottle and rear light. The only thing that really gives away the fact that its not a real road bike is the lack of handlebar tape, or perhaps thats just to save some weight? Oh, its also just 14 tall and 23.5 long.Still, Jordan says it wouldnt last 10 minutes in his house before his youngest kid tried to ride it.No handlebar tape = unrideable.ROAD BIKE MODEL KIT Head out on a creative journey with the LEGO Icons Road Bike (11380) building set, an authentic display model for adults and cycling enthusiastsDETAILED FEATURES AND ACCESSORIES The set has all you need to create a realistic road bike with sporty rims, rubber tires, and a rear wheel-lift stand, plus a removable water bottle and rear lightFULLY FUNCTIONAL DESIGN Avid cyclists can appreciate the functional aspects of the bike model, including a working pedal-and-chain mechanism and smooth front-wheel steeringSPORTS DECOR DISPLAY Mount the bicycle on its stand and turn the pedals to power the rear wheel for a dynamic display in the home or officeGIFT IDEA FOR CYCLISTS Treat yourself or gift a loved one this creative building project for sporty men and women, and fans of road cycling and racing bikesA FUN WAY TO BUILD The LEGO Builder app guides you with 3D instructions that let you zoom, rotate, and track your progress as you construct this detailed modelMORE SETS TO DISCOVER Relax and unwind with the inspiring range of LEGO Icons sets designed specifically for adultsDIMENSIONS When mounted on its stand, the road bike in this 1,015-piece set measures over 14 in. - BIKERUMOR.COMTailfin Journey Launches New Durable, Versatile, and Modular Alloy Adventure RackToday, innovative bikepacking accessory brand Tailfin launches an all-new, affordable alloy Journey Rack. Replacing Tailfins popular, eight-year-old Alloy Rack, the new Journey Rack is a more modular rear rack system that Tailfin says is more durable, versatile, and more compatible. Plus, its the most affordable adventure rack in their lineup, at about half the price of their carbon racksTailfin Journey affordable modular rear bikepacking and adventure rack(Photos / Tailfin)The new design uses a patented axle-mounting system that attaches through the rear wheel rather than the bike frame. This reduces stress on frame mounts and allows compatibility across a wider range of bike types, frame designs, and frame materials. That includes full-suspension mountain bikes, gravel, road, and touring bikes. The racks tri-pivot geometry lets the rack move with suspension compression, maintaining stability during suspended off-road rides. Two VersionsThe Journey Rack comes in two versions: One option has pannier mounts is for use with, well, panniers. And the other is a more minimalist version for use without panniers. Both can be installed or removed in seconds using a quick-release mechanism that requires no tools.A cool new feature is that when the Journey Rack is not in use, it folds flat for long-term storage, packing, or travel without the need for a rear rack. It also has the ability support many different cargo options, like the aforementioned panniers, top bags, cargo cages, or simply strapped-down gear. This makes it more than ready for your daily commute, weekend trips, or some proper long-distance bikepacking adventures. The Journey Racks redesign incorporates nearly a decade of rider feedback and testing from the original Alloy Rack. Key improvements include a stronger top deck, redesigned quick-release dropouts, more versatile mounting options, and an updated anodized finish.Tailfin says that every major component has been re-engineered to create what they describe as a complete evolution of their rack system.Tailfin Journey Rack Retail & DetailPricing: 150 / $205 / 180 for non-pannier version, including rear thru-axle 190 / $260 / 230 for pannier version, including rear thru-axleJourney Rack is constructed from durable and light 6061-T6 aluminum alloyuniversal fit on all styles of bikes, including full-suspension mountain bikesmax 29 x 2.6 tire clearance (new dropouts soon will increase clearance to 29 x 3.25)black anodized finish for durability2 versions available: with pannier mounts & without33cm long x 10cm wide robust, functional top deck3x triple bosses on each side for Anything-style cages (4-pack of bosses on non-pannier arch)completely redesigned Fast Release Dropouts and new stronger and easier to use Seatpost Connectorangle-adjustable Fit Link front connector for best fit on all bikes (two versions supplied) adjusts top deck position relative to saddle heightfully compatible with all existing Tailfin rack top and side pannier bagscompatible with other brand bags: panniers or boss mountedfoldable for easier storage and traveloptional light mount systemoptional mudguard available (reduces tire clearance to 29 x 2.25)pannier version rated up to 32kg of load (10kg per pannier + 12kg rack top bag)non-pannier version rated up to 22kg of load (6kg per quad bosses + 12kg rack top bag) claimed weights: 580g for non-pannier version, 740g for pannier versionTailfins new Journey Rack addresses some familiar challenges in the rack category by combining rapid attachment and removal with universal bike compatibility.Tailfin.ccThe post Tailfin Journey Launches New Durable, Versatile, and Modular Alloy Adventure Rack appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 176 Visualizações
