- GRANFONDO-CYCLING.COMSchwalbe G-One R Pro in the 2026 Gravel Tire Group TestThe Schwalbe G-One R Pro is the classic choice in the all-round and racing segment, promising the perfect balance of grip and efficiency. But how does this versatile tire fare in the big test for the best gravel tire of 2026? We put this all-rounder through its paces.Schwalbe G-One R Pro | 548.0 g in 45-622 | 74.90 | Manufacturers websiteSchwalbe market the G-One R Pro as being ideal for anyone riding across mixed terrain. Whether you are on gravel tracks, tarmac or even trails, this tire is meant to be a good choice for every situation. Schwalbe aim to deliver such versatile capability with their distinctive boomerang-shaped tread pattern, made up of arrow-shaped knobs pointing in the direction of travel, changing orientation depending on their position across the tire.Through the centre, the knobs are slightly wider and more closely packed to reduce rolling resistance. Further out towards the shoulders, they are spread out more to create a round profile and plenty of grip on soft surfaces. It is a clever concept that, on paper, promises the perfect compromise between efficiency and traction. A variation of the same idea also appears on the G-One RX, which we were quite impressed by. But did the boomerang tread keep us coming back for more, or did we wish we could throw it away? Lets see how it compared with the rest of the test field.Fast All-Rounder: Schwalbe G-One R Pro in the 2026 Gravel Tire Group TestThis fast all-round gravel tire weighs 548 g, putting it just under 20 g below the test average, which makes it well suited to such a versatile intended use. Its the second-lightest Schwalbe tire in the test field behind the 516 g G-One RS Pro. Now to rolling resistance, and here the G-One R Pro delivers an impressive result: at just 12.2 watts, only a handful of other gravel tires come close. Its in-house rival, the G-One RS Pro, comes in at 10.6 watts, but it is also far less focused on all-round use. Equally fast are the race-bred Continental Terra Speed, Hutchinson Caracal Race and Specialized Pathfinder TLR.When it comes to grip, the G-One R Pro does not quite match the outstanding performance of the G-One RX Pro or the Thunder Burt, but for such a fast gravel tire it performs very well. The sophisticated boomerang tread seems to work exceptionally well, especially on firm ground: whether hardpack, tarmac or gravel, this tire really shines wherever the surface stays fast. It can cope with mud too, but with only limited self-cleaning, that is not this gravel tires strong suit. As with the RX Pro, handling is predictable and responsive thanks to the rounded profile. It strikes a perfect balance between agility and security, giving you plenty of control while always remaining easy to read. The Schwalbe G-One R Pro also scores very well for compliance. It does not quite reach the high level of a Thunder Burt or G-One RS Pro, but it is noticeably better than the more off-road focused gravel tires in Schwalbes range. That suits its all-round character well. Whether on the road or on gravel, you certainly couldnt call it uncomfortable. That leaves puncture protection, which is consistently good overall, with very high penetration resistance. Alongside the Continental Terra Adventure, the G-One R Pro sits at the top of the table here. Pinch-flat protection, however, is slightly below average, and not as good as the other Schwalbe gravel tires in the test field.AGILITYcumbersomebalancedplayfulGRIPlowhighCOMPLIANCElowhighROLLING RESISTANCEslowfastPINCH-FLAT PROTECTIONlowhighPUNCH RESISTANCElowhighConclusion on the Schwalbe G-One R ProWith the G-One R Pro, Schwalbe have provided us with an extremely versatile contender for our test of the best gravel tires in 2026. High efficiency, superbly predictable handling and a high level of grip come together with good compliance and outstanding puncture resistance. Its mixed pinch-flat protection only slightly takes the shine off the overall package, so the G-One R Pro rightly ranks among the best and most versatile gravel tires in the entire test field. A well-deserved Best Buy for anyone looking for one of the fastest gravel tires around.TopsHigh efficiencyOutstanding puncture resistanceGood compliancePredictable handlingHigh gripFlopsPoor pinch-flat protectionMade in Vietnam | Size (ETRO) 45-622 | Width in mm 43,3 Height in mm 40,13 | Weight 548.0 g | Price 74.90measured dimensions at 1.75 3.0 Bar, depending on tire widthMore information at schwalbe.com.The TestfieldThis tire was tested as part of the Gravel Tire Comparison Test 2026 an overview of this comparison test as well as all other tested gravel tires can be found in the comprehensive comprehensive Gravel Tire Comparison Test 2026. - BIKERUMOR.COMMondraker Celebrates 10 Years of the Crafty E-MTB Platform with the Crafty Unlimited IconUnlimited is the label Mondraker gives to their most premium and exclusive bikes. We saw it not long ago with the Crafty Unlimited Gulf, a bike celebrating their collaboration with the motorsports brand.Just a handful of months later, Mondraker is going Unlimited again. This time, they are celebrating a decade of the Crafty as their flagship eMTB platform. So, clearly, they went with the latest and greatest, most powerful Avinox drive unit, correct? No. Despite the new ZENDIT having all that Avinox power, Mondraker stayed with the Bosch for the Unlimited Crafty Icon. Why Bosch Over Avinox? It is a good question, and one that has two answers. The first is more speculative, but I think it stands to reason. Mondraker just released a different Unlimited version of this bike in January. This was before the Avinox release, with the Crafty Unlimited Gulf featuring a Bosch motor.Crafty Unlimited Gulf (left) & Unlimited Icon (right)Another Unlimited bike, released a few months later, will essentially be the same platform. Likely the same components (well get into that later) and likely new paint. But the same platform, nonetheless. But there is another reason Mondraker stuck with a Bosch motor. For 10 years, the Crafty has had a Bosch drive unit. The Crafty was an early adopter of the first generation of the Bosch Performance Line CX. Bosch designed the motor specifically for eMTB, and Mondraker saw an opportunity to build the Crafty around it.The Crafty Unlimited Icon celebrates 10 years of the platform, something that wouldnt have happened without Bosch. But just because Mondraker isnt using the new Avinox motor doesnt mean this Bosch-equipped bike is a slouch. No, with the release of the Crafty Unlimited Icon comes a new Bosch update. As of May, the 5th-generation Bosch CX and CX-R are getting a boost. A software update increases torque from 100Nm to 120Nm and maximum pedal assistance from 400% to 600%.The Bosch UpdateThe dirty details that most will care about regarding the Bosch update are the power increases mentioned above. However, Mondraker notes that all that power doesnt mean much if you cant control it.Along with the power update, Bosch is also updating/adding features to their eBike Flow app. First, the software allows the motor to pre-tension the drivetrain, which helps prevent the motor and rear wheel from freewheeling on techy bits of trail. This means the Mondraker Crafty, or any other Bosch-equipped bike, responds directly to pedal input, creating a more predictable experience. The Mondraker Crafty Unlimited Icon will have a few other cool features thanks to the Bosch update. One addition to the app will be Trick Check, a new feature that tracks jump time, wheelies, manuals, and stoppies.Bosch will continue to allow you to personalize the drive units settings. Extended Boost will be available and customizable across all riding modes. The app will also now pair with Garmin devices, allowing you to monitor speed, range, and battery.Wait, isnt that information Bosch already displays? Well, yes, if you have a bike equipped with the Kiox 400C display screen. If not, youll need to pull out your phone and log in to the app, unless you pair it with something like a Garmin watch.Mondraker Crafty Unlimited IconSo now we know that Mondraker equips the Crafty Unlimited Icon with an updated Bosch CX-R drive unit. But the rest of the bike must be pretty special, right?I mean, yeah. It is definitely a step up from Mondrakers other Crafty builds, as far as components are concerned. And, from the looks of it, the Crafty Unlimited Icon receives the same build as the Unlimited Gulf, minus the matching paint. The component highlights are an Ohlins RXF 38 M3 fork and TTX22 M.2 coil shock, set to 160mm and 150mm, respectively. DT Swiss handles the wheels, with their Hybrid HXC 1200 hoops laced to 180 hubs. The niche brake brand, Trickstuff, takes care of the stoppers with their Maxima brakes, and SRAM handles shifting with an XX-level T-Type drivetrain.Basically, think of a top specd component, and it is likely the one Mondraker used on this bike.Along with a top-spec component build, Mondraker also worked with local artists and craftsmen on frame details. From the paint to the graphics, artists like Jose Luis Romera, Elena Sanchez, and Adri Moralez spared no expense, hand-painting and designing the frame. The result is a satin-black frame with metallic holographic details.Mondrakers press material didnt mention a price, but youve likely guessed that it is expensive. And, you probably guessed correctly. The very similar (exactly similar?) Crafty Unlimited Gulf will set you back $16,000. I imagine this bike has a similar price tag.mondraker.comThe post Mondraker Celebrates 10 Years of the Crafty E-MTB Platform with the Crafty Unlimited Icon appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 345 Visualizações

- WWW.FEMMECYCLIST.COMDo These Things To Thrive On The Bike After 40 With Marissa AxellImagine going from feeling strong and fast and loving every minute on the bike to feeling so exhausted you can barely keep your eyes open. Thats exactly what happened to Marissa Axell, a Cat 1 cyclist and cycling coach, when perimenopause hit in her late 30s. She had no idea what was happening. And she had never even heard the word perimenopause. But Marissa did the research, made changes, and now strives to help other women in this age group. In this conversation, we talk about the biggest training mistakes women over 40 make, how to balance strength work, skills training, and recovery without losing your mind, and the mental tools Marissa uses with her athletes use to push through the hard stuff. If youve ever worried your best riding days might be behind you, this episode will make you excited for the future again.Listen To The InterviewKey TakeawaysDont have time to listen to the full episode? Here are some of the key takeaways.Stop Thinking More Volume Is the AnswerMore volume without adequate recovery leads to getting slower, not fasterWomen over 40 experience a stress response to excessive training that can cause weight gain, illness, and injuryThe shift needs to be away from volume and toward what your personal physiology actually needs right nowThat means prioritizing strength training to combat muscle loss, and skills work to improve efficiency on the bikeStrength Training and Skills Work Are Non-NegotiableFocus on the big five movements: squats, deadlifts, lunges, presses, and rows/pullsFollow gym sessions immediately with cadence drills on the bike to transfer that muscle activation directly to your ridingWork toward pedaling 1015 RPM faster than your normal cadence to build efficiencySkills work isnt just for mountain bikers it matters across road, gravel, and every disciplineRecovery Is Training After 40, your hormones are no longer quietly managing your stress response for you. That means you have to actively work your parasympathetic nervous system or your training wont stick.Protect two dedicated recovery days per week and treat them as sacredUse those days for mobility, breath work, yoga nidra, or non-sleep deep rest (NSDR)Stack recovery habits into what youre already doing foam roll while watching TV, do breath work before bedIf you miss a training day, let it go. Dont cram it into your recovery day.You Dont Have to Do It All Communicate your training needs to your family ahead of time, dont assume theyll figure it outAsk yourself: is there one thing I could delegate this week that would free up time for me?Small shifts (like a meal kit on training days or asking your kid to handle one chore) can open up your schedule more than you thinkYou are not the last person on the list. Your goals matter too.Build Confidence With a Confidence ResumeWomen consistently underestimate themselves. Marissa has a practical tool for changing that:Sit down and write out everything youve done in the last 612 months to show up for your trainingInclude the early mornings, the hard rides, the times you made space for yourself when it wasnt easyRead it out loud to yourself, really take it inStop comparing yourself to who you were 15 years ago. Thats a trap. Look at what youve built recently.Use Process Goals to Race Smarter and Hurt LessWhether youre racing for the first time or chasing a PR, Marissas process goal approach helps you stay focused and out of your own head when things get hard.Break your event into thirds. Each third has one simple process goal to focus onThat goal might be holding a specific heart rate zone, pacing conservatively early, or attacking every climbUse a personal mantra to crowd out the thoughts that tell you to stop; you cant think two thoughts at the same timeTry counting down from 100 by sevens during hard intervals. It delays mental fatigue and teaches your brain to work through discomfortConnect With Marissa Axell Instagram: @marissa.axell Website: axnfitnessandcoaching.com Other Episodes Youll EnjoySelene Yeager Interview: How To Thrive On The Bike Thru MenopauseTips For Cycling After 40 With Sylvie DAoustAre You Biking On Empty? - WWW.BIKERADAR.COMYour next dream-build road bike could cost way less than you thought thanks to LegoLego has released this realistic Road Bike model that could enable you to live out your racing dreams from the comfort of your living room. The model, named simply Road Bike or 11380 for the die-hard fans is part of the brand's Icons series and features all the intricacies of modern-day aero road bikes. The Road Bike is aimed at older builders, with Lego giving it an unusually high age rating of 18+. With Lego pieces being famously angular and boxy, the designers look to have captured the aero profiling of the frame very well. The bike features a composite frame, but it's most certainly not monocoque. Lego While the Danish brand hasnt said which bike it is based on, we can see design elements familiar from early Factor bikes in the head tube and fork, as well as some Canyon cues in the rear seatstays. A notable feature is the set-exclusive aero wheels that feature disc rotors, which really tie the pieces together. It's a singlespeed, but there are no hills on your countertop. Lego Elsewhere, the attention to detail is impressive, with the shifters featuring paddles and the rear derailleur routing the chain through two jockey wheels. Crank length looks to be rather short, at no more than 50mm, and theres a detailed bidon that sits in the frame. The bike also features clipless pedals. Lego Lego looks to be prioritising safety with the build, with a removable rear bike light located on the saddle. The rear wheel is driven by the cranks. Lego The set includes 1,015 pieces and comes with a stand to display the model, but to my mind, it looks more like a smart trainer. At 109.99 / $129.99, you could probably find a second-hand road bike for the same money but where would the fun be in that?0 Comentários 0 Compartilhamentos 369 Visualizações
