- BIKERUMOR.COMLifetime Grand Prix Champ Cam Jones Adds White Rim FKT to His List of AccomplishmentsYou may recognize Cam Jones for some of his recent accomplishments, including winning Unbound Gravel, Big Sugar, and the Lifetime Grand Prix Series overall title in 2025. While the New Zealand rider may have started last season as a wildcard in the LTGP, he had several dominant performances and proved to be not just a contender, but the one to beat. Now, hes following up on that impressive breakout season with a new Fastest Known Time (FKT) on Utahs legendary White Rim Trail.Cam Jones and his drop bar SCOTT Spark RC World Cup bike ridden for the White Rim FKT. (photo/SCOTT)On March 31, 2026, Jones rode his SCOTT Spark RC World Cup with a drop bar setup on the 100-mile route, finishing in a record-setting time of 5:23:27. This bested the previous FKT of 5:28:21, which was set by Keegan Swenson in March of 2021, by just under five minutes. Now, Jones joins his SCOTT teammate, Hannah Otto, who set the womens White Rim FKT last year, at the top of the leaderboard. This feat is perhaps even more impressive when you learn that Jones set the new White Rim FKT with very little preparation. Obviously, he was physically prepared for the effort, but according to SCOTT, he reportedly chose to make the attempt as a last-minute side quest on the way to Sea Otter. Apparently, roughly 90 percent of the route was completely unknown to Jones, and hed never ridden it before. Were told his main preparation involved a phone call with Hannah Otto the night before, where she shared some strategy and recon notes. View this post on Instagram Even before I ever came to the U.S., Id heard the legends of the White Rim Trail. Its not only an iconic mountain bike adventure, but also a route with a deep history of FKT attempts that Ive followed throughout my career. Its incredibly special to see my name alongside, and ahead of, some amazing athletes. Next time, though, Id like to slow things down a bit and take in the views.-Cam JonesIf Jones record-setting White Rim FKT is any indication, the Kiwi rider is coming into the first stop of the Lifetime Grand Prix with some fitness. His competition is already on notice after he took the LTGP overall last season, and this FKT confirms that Jones is certainly on form to start the season. The first stop of the LTGP is at the Sea Otter Classic in a couple of weeks, and Jones will definitely be one to watch.scott-sports.comThe post Lifetime Grand Prix Champ Cam Jones Adds White Rim FKT to His List of Accomplishments appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Commenti 0 condivisioni 472 Views

- BIKERUMOR.COMOtso Trades Tuning Chip Dropouts for UDH, Expanding Drivetrain Compatibility on Updated Warakin Ti.Otsos Warakin Ti adventure dropbar bike has been a mainstay in the brands lineup for quite a few years now. We tested it shortly after it came out back in 2020, and Zach even put together a Warakin Ti dream build a few years ago. Its always been a great-looking bike and an incredibly versatile platform, and its Tuning Chip dropouts have allowed riders to fine-tune the chainstay length for varying needs and preferences. But since the UDH interface has become the de facto standard for dropouts, the Tuning Chip dropouts UDH incompatibility has rendered some drivetrains unusable. In an effort to expand drivetrain compatibility to include direct-mount derailleurs that use the UDH interface, like SRAM Transmission, Otso is updating the Warakin Ti with 3D-printed titanium UDH dropouts. This follows Otsos recent announcement of the same update to the Fenrir Ti.The Warakin Ti now has a 3D-printed titanium UDH dropout. This means that the updated Warakin Ti no longer has an adjustable chainstay/rear center length; it is now fixed at 430mm across all sizes. While the Tuning Chips allowed riders to adjust the chainstay length between 420mm, 430mm, and 440mm, Otso settled on the middle setting for the fixed UDH dropout, which should work well for most people. Beyond that, the geometry looks nearly identical to the previous version. The other thing that has changed is the frames graphics. This is fairly subtle, but now the titanium frame has a mostly matte finish thats broken up with polished logos and details. Otherwise, the rest of the features of the Warakin Ti appear to remain the same, so if youre interested in knowing more about the bike, our previous articles are a great reference. New graphics, same head badge.Builds and PricingWith the new 3D-printed UDH dropout, one of the biggest changes to the Warakin Ti is compatibility with SRAM drivetrains. As such, Otso is now offering complete builds with SRAM Rival and Force XPLR AXS 13-speed wireless drivetrains. Heres a quick rundown of the build options and prices. As always, Otso lets the buyer choose handlebar width, stem length, wheel size, and chainring size with options to upgrade certain components or choose accent colors for an additional fee.Warakin Ti Frame Only: $3,650 (add Lithic Carbon Fork +$250)SRAM Force XPLR AXS 113: $6,500Shimano GRX 800 Di2 112: $6,200SRAM Rival XPLR AXS 113: $5,900Shimano GRX 600: $5,300SRAM Apex Mechanical: $5,100And if you prefer the adjustability of the Tuning Chip dropout, limited sizes of the previous Warakin Ti frames are still available at 25% off the original price, currently listed at $2,653.75.The Otso Warakin Ti looking pretty drool-worthy with matching anodized purple accents.AvailabilityThe new Warakin Ti is available now.
