- CYCLINGUPTODATE.COM"He wants to race, he wants to attack..." - Visma's Patrick Broe refutes idea that Jonas Vingegaard is the opposite of Tadej PogacarTadej Pogacar is the strongest climber in pro cycling and a rider who is known for his aggressive tactics and long-range attacks. Jonas Vingegaard does not have the same reputation, but it is not because he isn't an aggressive rider himself, argues Patrick Broe - Lanterne Rouge - who is the head of...0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 451 Просмотры
- BIKERUMOR.COMVideo: Teewing Teases New Avinox-Powered Flux eMTB with UK Ripper Josh GleeveRecently, several brands have announced new eMTB models but have been keeping the details of their drive systems a secret. From Athertons first eMTB to the soon-to-be-launched Mondraker ZENDIT and surely several others these Avinox-powered bikes are hinting at something new coming in the motor department. Now, Teewing is joining in on the Avinox teases while trying to build a little excitement for its soon-to-launch Flux eMTB.Check out this video, shot by Tom Caldwell and featuring UK shredder Josh Gleeve riding the new bike, to see what its capable of. Looks like it goes pretty good, or maybe Josh Gleeve is just a talented rider. Probably both.Whats a Teewing? If you havent heard of Teewing Bikes before, thats because it is an up-and-coming eMTB brand, with just one model so far. The Turbo Force was introduced last year, and is a trail-oriented bike with 150/160mm of travel and the Avinox M1 drive system. The new Flux eMTB will double its product lineup, with a longer-travel, high-pivot design for hard-hitting riding that appears to be a heck of a lot of fun.We dont know all the details yet, but were told the Flux has 178mm of high-pivot rear travel, a 180mm fork, and can be run as a mixed-wheel setup or a full 29er. Based on the speeds and terrain that Josh Gleeve is riding in the video, its fair to assume that it has a geometry catering toward aggressive riding, too.The Teewing Flux. (photo/Will Brignal)We also know that its Avinox-powered, but like the Mondraker ZENDIT, we dont have the rest of the details on that just yet, but we should know more soon.In the meantime, heres what the rider from the video, Josh Gleeve, had to say about the new Teewing Flux.First thing I noticed was how sleek the Teewing looks, the logos clean, and the whole bike has a proper stealth feel. The high-pivot mullet setup worked really well for cornering, and the rear end just tracks the ground properly. It feels planted, especially when things get rough. On steep, rough terrain, its super forgiving. Honestly, it rides more like a downhill bike than youd expect from an eMTB, which was pretty wild. Climbing-wise, no ones getting past you with that boost mode. Theres loads of power. The battery life was solid as well, just kept going all day without any stress about running out. The riding position felt comfortable straight away, and the geometry just works. Overall, its a bike you can properly beat on; it takes it all in stride.Well be getting the rest of the details on the new Teewing Flux and several other new eMTBs in the next week or so, and well share them when we do.teewingbikes.comThe post Video: Teewing Teases New Avinox-Powered Flux eMTB with UK Ripper Josh Gleeve appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 474 Просмотры

- BIKERUMOR.COMArcteryx Enters the MTB World With the Rhoam CollectionThe design center for Arcteryx is located on Vancouvers North Shore. Countless bits of gear, from jackets to packs to shoes, have been tested in the harsh and wet conditions of the North Shore. To be clear, many Arcteryx products have already been used on soggy North Shore trails aboard a mountain bike. Yet, none of them were designed specifically for mountain biking. That is, until now. Introducing Rhoam: a jacket, pants, and shorts. Rhoam marks Arcteryxs first venture into mountain biking. The Arcteryx Rhoam CollectionOur heritage is rooted in building gear for people who live and thrive in the mountains, and that includes our own team. Many of us ride; our athletes ride. Mountain biking is part of our culture, Ashley Anson, VP Design at Arcteryx, said.Setting out to create their first mountain bike kit, Arcteryx applied the same philosophy theyve always had. They used the same technical expertise used in climbing and snow shells, but adapted for bike use. This means perfect articulation for on-bike body positioning. The fit is also tailored specifically for mens and womens bodies.Anson continued: Our team spent countless hours riding in some of the toughest conditions on the North Shore; this capsule is the result of mountain athletes designing for how they ride, move, and experience the outdoors.Arcteryx uses hybrid material mapping across the entire lineup. Material mapping allows for greater stretch and articulation, as well as improved protection and thermoregulation.Rhoam Hybrid JacketWomens (left) / Mens (right)Arcteryx designed the Rhoam Hybrid Jacket to face the wettest of rides. The hybrid jacket features the best of both worldsthe comfort and stretch of a softshell with the weather protection of a hardshell. The Rhoam Hybrid Jacket combines 50D softshell material with a durable Gore-Tex membrane. Arcteryx placed the Gore-Tex where it is needed most: the arms, the hood, and body. Other portions of the jacket consist of the softshell material for freedom of movement.Other mountain bike-specific features are also built into the jacket. The hood is large enough to fit over a helmet, yet still provides good peripheral visibility. A pocket at the lower back helps store items, while another chest pocket is specifically for storing a phone.Lastly, velcro cuffs and a drawstring waist help with fit and keep out the elements.Weight: 250g (women) / 270g (men)Sizes: XXSXXL (women) / XSXXL (men)Fit: RegularMaterial: 50D Softshell / 20D 3L Gore-Tex ePEPrice: $450Rhoam PantsWomens (left) / Mens (right)Arcteryx combines Fortius DW 2.0 softshell fabric with Aequora AirPerm fabric for the Rhoam Pants. And again, material mapping allows them to do so in specific areas to achieve performance goals. The Fortius softshell fabric is comfortable yet durable and offers reliable protection against the wind. This material makes up a good portion of the Rhoam Pants. To reduce excess heat and enhance breathability, Arcteryx uses Aequora fabric at the waist and behind the knees. All of this receives a water-repellent finish to help keep the weather out.Arcteryx designed the pants to have a slimmer fit, while allowing for kneepads. The lower legs have a zipper providing easier access to the kneepads, while zippered side pockets help keep other items secure.Mens and womens pants have different cuts: womens have a higher-rise fit, while mens have a mid-rise.Weight: 315g (women) / 360g (men)Sizes: 016R (women) / 2838 R (men)Fit: FittedMaterial: Fortius DW 2.0 / Aequora AirPermPrice: $280Rhoam ShortsWomens (left) / Mens (right)Many of the same features from the Rhoam Pants carry over to the Rhoam Shorts, except for the lower-leg portions. Arcteryx uses the same Fortius DW 2.0 and Aequora AirPerm fabrics for comfort, durability, and breathability, placed in the same areas. The shorts also feature a 13 inseam and the same high- and mid-rise design for women and men as the pants.Weight: 220g (women) / 250g (men)Sizes: 016R (women) / 2838 R (men)Fit: FittedMaterial: Fortius DW 2.0 / Aequora AirPermPrice: $280arcteryx.comThe post Arcteryx Enters the MTB World With the Rhoam Collection appeared first on Bikerumor.0 Комментарии 0 Поделились 433 Просмотры
