- BIKERUMOR.COMFox Updates its Trail and All-Mountain Shocks with Incremental Improvements to the Float X and DHXWhether you prefer air or coil suspension, Foxs X-family of shocks has the needs of trail and all-mountain bikes and riders in mind. Now, for 2026 (model year 2027), Fox is updating its popular Float X air shock, DHX coil shock, and the Live Valve Neo versions of both. While their outward appearance is nearly identical to the original versions introduced in 2022, Fox continues to make incremental internal updates to improve performance on the trial.Whats New?According to Fox, the updates to the X-family shocks were made to bring X2-level (Foxs gravity line) performance to the lighter, smaller, and simpler trail-oriented platforms. For both the Float X and the DHX, Fox tells us they have completely new base valves and main piston assemblies. And that the updated high-flow piston design approaches the performance of the Float X2 and DHX2 delivering increased sensitivity, improved support, and better rear tire grip for riders. Both the Float X air shock and the DHX coil shock are available in all of the typical eye-to-eye and stroke lengths. Fox also offers both shocks with Live Valve Neo, the brands auto-adjusting wireless suspension control. This gives trail riders four options to suit their specific needs and preferences. Some chase efficiency, some chase flow, some push their bikes as hard as possible. And thats exactly why FOX builds a full ecosystem of Trail suspension. Lightweight options, coil options, and smart suspension options. All designed to deliver performance without compromise.Float X: Smash ReadyFrom Fox: FLOAT X remains the master of Trail and AM suspension. - BIKERUMOR.COMRecalls Recently Announced for Trek and Electra E-BikesAt the end of January, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of nearly 20,000 Trek and Electra e-bikes. The affected bikes are the Trek FX+ 1 and the Electra Townie Go!.The issue? Apparently, the rear wheel bolts are breaking when torqued, allowing the wheel to separate from the bike. This certainly comes as a blow to Trek, as the FX+ 1 lineup was the first throttle-equipped e-bike the brand offered. It is unclear from the report if torque refers to the actual tightening of the bolt or the force from riding the e-bike. Guesses have us pointing to the former, as the report also indicates that no injuries have been reported in connection with this issue. The Trek-branded bikes affected are model year 2026:FX+ 1 MidstepFX+ 1S MidstepFX+ 1 StepoverFX+ 1S StepoverThe Electra-branded bikes recalled are model year 2026:Townie Go! Step ThruTownie Go! S Step ThruCPSC indicates that these bikes were sold before October 28, 2025. The bolts in question are black in color and connect the rear hub motor to the bike. Hyena, the company that makes the rear hub motor used in these bikes, also manufactured the bolts. If this sounds like you, the CPSC recommends you stop riding immediately and contact a Trek dealer. The repair is free, and Trek even provides participants with a $10 in-store credit good for any Trek, Electra, or Bontrager products. For reference, the recall number is: 26-220.
