- WWW.BIKERADAR.COMLooks new gravel pedals are designed to satisfy racers and adventure riders alikeLooks X-Track pedal has been in its clipless line-up for nearly 10 years, and now it's joined by two new designs aimed to meet the needs of the wide spectrum of gravel riders. The two new pedals are the X-One-G, a new ultra-lightweight option aimed squarely at racers, and the X-Venture+, intended for adventure riders and bikepackers. Looks product manager, Alexandre Lavaud, explains: When we quizzed a wide range of gravel racers, including some of our own sponsored riders, we found many that used road pedals when race conditions allowed. They are looking for those marginal gains, lighter weight, the solid connected feel a road pedal gives, and improved power transfer. "The major downside of using road pedals off-road is the wear and stresses on pedals. The grit and grime cause premature wear to cleats, seals and platforms. Read more: Best gravel bike pedals in 2026 X-One-G The X-One-G Ti is fully serviceable and rebuildable. Look With a year of development behind the new X-One-G, Look has arrived at a single-sided SPD-compatible pedal with the largest surface area yet seen on a lightweight off-road clipless pedal. Lavaud explains: The target for the X-One-G was to create a gravel pedal with the durability of an off-road pedal but the feel and performance of a road pedal. The Look X-One-G Ti is a lightweight single-sided gravel pedal aimed at racers. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The 650mm surface area is in fact 30% greater than that found on Looks own pro road-race Keo 2 Max pedal. Its also significantly larger than the X-Track at 515 mm. The 650mm platform is larger than Look's road-going Keo. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The range-topping X-One-G Ti weighs in at an impressively light 240g, with the cro-mo axle Max version tipping the scales at a claimed 290g a pair. Compared to current lightweight clipless pedals, the new Look pedals are competitively light. Crankbrothers' Eggbeater 11 pedals weigh 179g a pair, Times ATAC XC12s weigh in at 244g and Shimanos top-of-the-range XTRs are 310g. At only 120g each, the Look X-One-G Ti pedals are very light. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The X-One-G has a 53mm Q-factor and a stack height of 10.7mm. Thats the same as the X-Track. The pedal and cleat combined have a stack height of 16mm. While there is no word yet from Look on adding a power meter pedal to the gravel range, Lavaud hasn't ruled out the development of such a product. X-Venture+ The Look X-Venture+ offers clipless and platform in one. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The X-Venture+ provides an option for the other extreme of gravel riding, a pedal designed for adventure riders and bikepackers, who seek out more extreme trails and technical terrain. The pronounced pins on the non-clipless side offer plenty of grip, while keeping the pedal low-profile. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia Like the X-One-G, the X-Venture+ shares a single-sided SPD design. However, here the flipside to the retention mechanism is a wide mountain-bike style platform replete with moulded pins. The platform side offers a practical alternative for when you don't want to use clipless shoes. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia At 380g, the X-One-G is light for a pedal with a platform. In comparison, Shimanos XTR enduro pedals weigh in at around 435g a pair. Looks own range-topping enduro pedal, the X-Track En-Rage, weighs in at 450g a pair. The X-Venture+ is compatible with Look's Easy Cleat (multi-directional release). Alongside the premium X-Venture+ is the X-Venture, with a resin platform, weighing in at 400g a pair. The X-Venture comes with a resin platform. Look New Look gravel pedals range and price information Look's gravel line-up: the X-One, X-Track and X-Venture. - INRNG.COMUCI Team RankingsIts too early to draw conclusions for the three year promotion and relegation cycle but heres a look at the latest standings in chart form.UAE are running away with almost 2,500 points on Red Bull and Tadej Pogaar has only raced once. Isaac Del Toro, Jan Christen, Jay Vine and Antonio Morgado have scored more so far.XDS-Astana continue to grab points galore and are ahead of Visma-LAB and Decathlon-CMA CGM. The French teams top scorer is Tobias Lund on 865 points, just with five points more than Paul Seixas. They are among the big budget teams now but remember that if they spend 80% of their budget on rider wages, a quarter of this goes on French payroll taxes. So whatever the headline, the actual spending power is about a fifth less. Todays LEquipe mentions theyre trying to extent title sponsorship from their existing backers until 2035 and quotes team manager Dominique Serieys saying that were Paul Seixas ever to leave the team it wont be because of money.Jayco have had a good start thanks in part to Mauro Schmid bringing in over 1,000 points or a third of their haul. Newly promoted Uno-X are settling in well so far.Soudal-Quickstep sit lower than would be expected. Filippo Zana has 442 points for them thanks to the Giro di Sardegna win and 8th overall Down Under. Paul Magnier their next best scorer on 222.Embed from Getty ImagesGroupama-FDJ see almost half their points coming from Romain Grgoires strong start to the season. Off all the teams they have the biggest ratio of top rider divided by team score. The red bars in the chart mark ProTeams, the second tier. Here Tudor, Cofidis, Pinarello-Q36.5 all sit above the line to mark 18th place and so are virtual promotion candidates. Yes theres a long way to go but theyre doing what they need to so far.Lidl-Trek are hardly relegation candidates but linger in 17th place. Injury and illness explains plenty with Mads Pedersen out, Thibau Nys needing surgery and Juan Ayuso leaving Paris-Nice which Mattias Skjelmose could not start. Jonathan Milan has six wins this season but theyre stage wins and he hasnt hit the jackpot of an overall win.The dark horizontal line marks 18th place. Lotto-Intermarch could get a boost next week from their results in the Tour de Taiwan with two stage wins so far. Alpecin-PremierTech have less to worry about given Matthew Van der Poel should score big but theyre obviously reliant on him and even Jasper Philipsen is only on 41 points.Picnic-PostNL stand out for their struggles. A year ago they were relegation candidates but had at least scored around a thousand points to keep them in contention. Now theyre already about a thousand points adrift of relegation and are the only WorldTeam without a win so far this season.ElsewhereBardiani-CSF-7 Saber, Euskaltel-Euskadi, Flanders-Baloise, SolutionTech-Nippo-Rali and Team Novo Nordisk dont feature on the chart as theyre outside the top-30. Eligibility for a grand tour wildcard depends on being inside.Cyclings second tier is shrinking and set to get smaller. Theres still no news on a replacement sponsor for Total Energies and the deal needs to be done in the coming weeks otherwise their best riders will start to sign elsewhere which in turn makes the team less attractive for a potential sponsor, creating a vicious cycle. We know Flanders-Baloise is stopping. Now Kern Pharma announced it will end its seven year sponsorship and the team barely mentioned the search for a replacement, only saying now is an ideal team.ConclusionIf a picture says a 1,000 words then having seen the UCI rankings tables which come out every Tuesday it was about time to see what it looks like as a bar chart and share it. UAE have a huge gap already and Picnic-PostNL are already in trouble. The post UCI Team Rankings first appeared on The Inner Ring.0 Kommentare 0 Anteile 458 Ansichten
