Zwift Gets New Climbs, New Features, and More Expensive
Ahead of the Tour de France, there are a lot of new features in the works for the virtual training world known as Zwift. The program and app continue to develop and add new features. Perhaps the writing was on the wall earlier this year when Zwift laid off more than 100 employees, but now Zwift has announced a price increase as well. Previously, a month of Zwift subscription would run $14.99 here in the United States. That price has now increased to $19.99 per month, a 33% increase. The price of an annual subscription has also increased, from $149.99 to $199.99. Youre still getting essentially two months free with the annual subscription, though both options have gone up in price. At that price is it still worth it? If you spend a lot of time on Zwift, it likely is. Especially when you consider all the upcoming improvements that will be rolling out later this year. Check out the details straight from Zwift below:WATOPIA EXPANSION: THE GRADE(Photos/Zwift)Launching June 2024Rolling out to Zwifters in June, The Grade is designed to be a testing climb for Zwifters. Royal Canal Greenway between Glasnevin and Ashtown need to be submitted to planning board
An Bord Pleanla has ruled that a revised plan for Dublin City Councils 4.2km long Royal Canal Greenway Phase 4 must undergo a greater environmental assessment, which must be submitted to the planning board for approval. The issue relates to the proposed widening of the canal bank in the revised plan and its possible effects on the linked watercourses and Dublin Bay. The route along the canal between Glasnevin/Phibsborough and Ashtown is currently narrow, and much of the route has a poor surface. The proposal includes widening the existing canal bank by between 1.4 to 2.15 metres at three locations, which would eliminate the need for third-party land acquisition. The sections include widening a section where motoring access is provided for residents and other lands. However, the proposed width of the widened canal path along sections without car access would remain substandardly narrow for the planned segregated paths. The project would also include ducting and chambers for future ESB high-voltage cables to be installed under the canal path. The decision to require further screening was made after residents along the canal, Jacqui McElhinney and Francis Mackey, made an application for an AA Screening Determination. FPLogue Solicitors prepared the application. The couple In his Inspectors Report, David Ryan, an An Bord Pleanla planning inspector, said that, given the canals connection to the River Liffey and into Dublin Bay, the works would likely significantly effect EU-protected sites in Dublin Bay.The board has ruled that a Stage 2 Appropriate Assessmentand a Natura Impact Statementare needed for the project.FPLogue Solicitors said: We successfully argued that proposed modifications to the Royal Canal Greenway require appropriate assessment and therefore Dublin City Council must apply directly to An Bord Pleanla.MORE: ABP planning file.
