Continental launches special edition GP 5000 S TR tyre complete with a model Pogaar
Continental has launched a collectors edition of its Grand Prix 5000 S TR tyre, complete with a miniature Tadej Pogaar figure.Theres a serious purpose behind the collectors edition tyre, because its part of Contis Share The Road campaign, which aims to promote, Continental says, "road safety, mutual respect, and harmonious coexistence for everyone on the road" aims we can all agree with.According to Hannah Ferle, product manager for road at Continental: The trust placed in us by world-class athletes like Tadej is both an honour and an incentive. With the Grand Prix 5000 S TR Pogaar Edition, we wanted to bring together our race-proven road performance with a meaningful initiative. The collector's edition tyre comes complete with this Pogi collectible. The Pogi character has been created along with Pogaar and stars in a collection of animated stories, with the take-home message that the road belongs to everyone. Heres a link to the Share The Road video. The Collector's Edition Pogi tyre includes Pogaars TP logo, which features on his Colnago bikes and components including his Carbon-Ti chainrings. There are more tiny TPs incorporated into the tyres Grand Prix 5000 S TR wordmark. The tyre bears Pogaar's name and logo. The collectors edition tyre comes in a 30mm width only, with a claimed 300g weight. At the 2026 Tour de France, Pogaars Colnago Y1Rs was fitted with 28mm Grand Prix 5000 TT TR tyres, although we found many pros choosing 30mm tyres for racing. The Collectors Editions 30mm width is probably a better bet for amateur riders, who dont get to cycle on pristine tarmac every day. Conti has recently added a 35mm width to the standard Grand Prix 5000 S TR range, as the wider tyre trend continues. If you want a Pogaar Collectors Edition tyre, theyre priced at 94.99 / $137.95 / 109.95 each.Does the Pogaar model look much like him? Not really, although it does have impressive leg muscles that would befit a cycling GOAT.
