UCI Gravel World Championships Day OneSaturday 10 October Nannup, Western AustraliaElite women and age-group world titlesElite men and the mens 1949 age groups still to raceDes Woods came within two and a half minutes of a world medal on the opening day of the UCI Gravel World Championships in Nannup, finishing fourth in the mens 6064 race, while Marianne Vos won the elite womens title.Woods finished 5:16 behind Australias Tim Jamieson, who took the rainbow jersey on the same time as his compatriot Richard Walsh. Michael Buser of Switzerland took bronze at 2:32 ahead of the Irishman. Michael Jordan was 14th in the same race from 60 finishers.Richard McCauley was seventh of 59 in the mens 5559, and Maria Ludden ninth of 16 in the womens 4044.In the elite womens race Gabrielle Fox finished 29th and Nicole Schafer 34th, 36:13 and 39:04 behind the winner, from 46 finishers. That was bloody hard! said Fox, who survived two small spills on the way round. The race was not too technical gravel in Europe and Ireland is more difficult. The pace the elite climb at is hard! I need to find a few extra watts per kilo for next year. With 3,200 metres of climbing in her legs, she thanked everyone at home for their support, and Simon Ryan and Sinead, who between them covered team manager, mechanic, first aid and soigneur. I hope I did the Irish jersey proud.Vos took her second gravel world title, four years after winning the first one in 2022, finishing alone in 4:30:04. Rosa Klser was second at 27 seconds, with Larissa Hartog third at 2:15 after outsprinting Nele Laing for the last podium place.Ireland has two more riders still to race: Nicholas Roche in the mens 4044, and Alexis Roche in the mens 1934.IRLIrish Results Day OnePosition in category gap to the winner4Des WOODSMen 6064 4th of 60+5:167Richard McCAULEYMen 5559 7th of 59+13:529Maria LUDDENWomen 4044 9th of 16+32:1014Michael JORDANMen 6064 14th of 60+23:5329Gabrielle FOXElite Women 29th of 46+36:1334Nicole SCHAFERElite Women 34th of 46+39:04Elite WomenWEResult Elite WomenSat 10 October 2026 Nannup, Western Australia 46 finishers, 4 DNF1Marianne VOS (4) 4:30:042Rosa KLSER (13) +273Larissa HARTOG (5) +2:154Nele LAING (8)+2:155Erica MAGNALDI (18)+4:176Sofia GOMEZ VILLAFANE (37)+5:157Irina LUETZELSCHWAB (19)+5:288Tiffany CROMWELL (11)+7:159Elisa SERN (7)+7:1510Haley SMITH (35)+8:5511Carolin SCHIFF (10)+9:0212Nicole FRAIN (3)+9:2213Wendy OOSTERWOUD (1)+9:3314Maria LAURIE (29)+11:2815Joyce VANDERBEKEN (62)+13:4916Janni SPANGSBERG (61)+17:3317Sophie WRIGHT (6)+20:4918Kaitlyn RAUWERDA (50)+20:4919Elizabeth HERMOLLE (15)+20:5120Jade TREFFEISEN (14)+23:4621Flora JOHNSON (44)+27:0622Madeleine NUTT (24)+27:4723Theresa RINDLER-BACHL (25)+31:1424Francesca SEAL (40)+33:4325Hanna JOHANSSON (33)+35:5226Holly HENRY (47)+35:5427Ella BLOOR (42)+36:1328Karoline Risager SCHMIDT (51)+36:1329Gabrielle FOX (52)+36:1330Victoria Rose Channing BARRY (49)+37:3031Peta MULLENS (59)+37:5332Sophie BYRNE (30)+38:3133Holly HARRIS (36)+38:4334Nicole SCHAFER (57)+39:0435Anet BARRERA ESPARZA (34)+39:3136Dylan BAKER (23)+40:1637Hayley SIMMONDS (21)+40:5938Sarah DIEKMEYER (26)+42:3439Laetitia BILODEAU (43)+44:3540Shuwei HSU (38)+45:5441Fiona MORRIS (60)+48:4742Kate BONNER (55)+77:4343Yuki KATAOKA (41)+85:2344Andrea LOZA FIOL (48)+99:0245Mutsumi HARA (58)+107:5546Chiharu UKAI (45)+120:19Geerike SCHREURS (16)DNFshleigh MOOLMAN-PASIO (22)DNFSharlotte LUCAS (32)DNFPamela MARTINO (56)DNFResults: UCI Gravel World Championships official results (Idle Timing).
