UEC Road European Championships Day ThreeSunday 4 October Ljubljana to enur, SloveniaElite mens and junior womens road racesRest day Monday team time trials resume Tuesday 6 OctoberRemco Evenepoel won the European road race title by a photo finish from Giulio Ciccone in enur on Sunday 4 October, completing a set that already held Olympic and world titles. The two were inseparable on the home straight after 196.2km, and the judges needed the photograph to separate them. Christian Scaroni came home alone 59 seconds later for bronze, giving Italy two medals in the championships flagship event. It had been a brutal race. A six-man break went after twenty kilometres, including Luka Mezgec riding his last race, before Belgium controlled the chase and Italys pressure closed it down with 80km left.Ciccone attacked 36km from the finish and Evenepoel went with him. The pair were clear when Evenepoel lost control of his bike and crashed. He remounted immediately and rejoined the chasers, while Ciccone, who did not press on alone, was also caught.Evenepoel attacked again shortly afterwards, Ciccone again the only rider able to follow, and this time it stuck. By the bell the two led by about thirty seconds from a group containing Primo Rogli, Mathys Rondel, Scaroni and Ivn Romeo. France sent Rondel across; Scaroni went with him, then dropped him and chased alone, but could not reach the leaders.Around 200,000 spectators lined the course, with the President of Slovenia, Nataa Pirc Musar, watching the finish in enur.Elite Mens Road RaceRRResult Elite Mens Road RaceSun 4 October 2026 Ljubljana enur 196.2km 66 classified1Remco EVENEPOEL (4) 04:16:372Giulio CICCONE (33) 04:16:373Christian SCARONI (39) +00:594Toms SKUJINS (86)+01:135Ivan ROMEO ABAD (46)+01:166Ramses DEBRUYNE (3)+01:167Emil HERZOG (63)+01:168Maxim VAN GILS (6)+01:169Lo BISIAUX (11)+01:1810Primo ROGLI (23)+01:1911Mathys RONDEL (14)+01:2712Romain GREGOIRE (13)+02:0813Jakob OMRZEL (22)+02:0814Kvin VAUQUELIN (16)+02:0815Marc HIRSCHI (58)+02:0816Mikkel HONOR (29)+02:0817Alex BAUDIN (9)+02:0818Pavel SIVAKOV (15)+02:1519Jan TRATNIK (24)+02:4720Michael GOGL (67)+02:4721Aleksandr VLASOV (83)+02:4722Pau MIQUEL DELGADO (43)+02:4723Maximilian SCHACHMANN (65)+02:4724Tijmen GRAAT (48)+02:4725Urko BERRADE FERNANDEZ (42)+02:5026Diego ULISSI (40)+03:0727Nelson OLIVEIRA (73)+03:0728Jan CHRISTEN (56)+03:0729Marco SCHRETTL (70)+04:4730Senna REMIJN (53)+04:4731Giulio PELLIZZARI (37)+06:4932Clment BRAZ AFONSO (12)+06:4933Matej MOHORIC (20)+08:1334Mateusz GAJDULEWICZ (79)+08:1335Peter HANSEN (28)+08:1436Mads PEDERSEN (31)+08:1437Marco BRENNER (61)+08:1438Victor LANGELLOTTI (115)+12:1439Julien BERNARD (10)+12:1940Jardi Christiaan VAN DER LEE (54)+12:1941Marco FRIGO (36)+12:1942Philipp HOFBAUER (69)+13:3043Alexander HAJEK (68)+13:3044Gijs LEEMREIZE (50)+13:3045Fabian WEISS (59)+14:0946Frederik WANDAHL (32)+14:0947Tiago ANTUNES (72)+14:0948Ludovico CRESCIOLI (34)+14:0949Anthon CHARMIG (27)+14:0950Jakub KACZMAREK (80)+16:5351Dominik NEUMAN (77)+18:0352Tobias BAYER (66)+18:0353Mrk VALENT (93)+18:0354Jnos Zsombor PELIKN (92)+18:0355Axel KLLBERG (109)+18:0356Johannes ADAMIETZ (60)+18:0357Valentin DARBELLAY (57)+18:0358Filip MACIEJUK (81)+18:0359Burak ABAY (103)+18:0360Alex MOLENAAR (51)+18:0361Emiliano VILA (98)+18:0362Emanuel ZANGERLE (71)+18:0863Sjoerd BAX (47)+18:0864Jochem KERCKHAERT (49)+18:0865Mathieu KOCKELMANN (101)+18:0866Mats WENZEL (102)+18:08PhotosPhotography by UEC Sprint Cycling Agency2026 UEC Road European Championships - Odriozola dropped back on the second climb, leaving four to contest it, and attacks from Ballan and Lestrade on the final ascent could not separate them. Burger was fourth at five seconds. The win is a family matter: Ballan is the daughter of Alessandro Ballan, world road race champion in 2008 and winner of the Tour of Flanders in 2007.RRResult Junior Womens Road RaceSun 4 October 2026 enur 66.3km 57 classified1Azzurra BALLAN (12) 01:52:382Morgane LESTRADE (27) 01:52:383Klara DWORATZEK (20) 01:52:384Leni BURGER (19)+00:055Elisa BIANCHI (13)+01:346Eva DRHOV (38)+01:347Alejandra NEIRA DOMINGUEZ (4)+01:348Edda BIEBERLE (18)+01:349Karolna HAJDUKOV (58)+01:3410Amandine JAKOB (21)+01:3411Matilde ROSSIGNOLI (17)+01:3412Elena LOPES (52)+01:3413Karolna PICAROV (41)+01:3414Mirthe MONS (32)+01:3415Laura FIVE (36)+01:3416Thas POIRIER (29)+01:3417Giorgia PELLIZOTTI (16)+01:3418Lujza BARTOKOV (56)+01:3419Anja GROSSMANN (45)+01:3420Alessia ORSI (15)+01:3421Nomie MARTINET (28)+01:3422Michaela JIROUTKOV (39)+01:3423Emma GALOVIOV (57)+01:3424Nomie JURADO ROUMIEUX (26)+01:3425Jade ZIJLSTRA (35)+01:3426Greta ANDERSSON (89)+01:3427Jael PLATTNER (49)+01:3428August MIKUTYT (44)+01:3429Marie HERZOG (25)+01:3430Elia MARTHE (48)+03:5131Charlotte SPTH (22)+03:5132Aitana GUTIERREZ VELARDE (2)+04:5333Carolina TRATTNER (69)+04:5334Amelia SZYMANSKA (11)+04:5335Evie REIJN (33)+05:1236Lucie ELIZALDE (24)+05:1437Marie WEMBER (23)+05:1538Natlie NMCOV (40)+05:1539Rene EXENBERGER (66)+05:1540Kinga SOMKA (10)+05:1541Hana JEROMEL (61)+05:1542Lina MEHLE (63)+05:1543Manon MAHY (37)+05:1544August AUDINYT (42)+05:1545Virg BENEDEK (76)+05:1546Valentine ROUSSEAUX (50)+05:1547Maxime TAKKEN (34)+05:1548Los DE JONG (30)+05:1549Lluna JIMENEZ GONZALEZ (3)+05:1550Klra PADUCHOV (59)+05:1551Naxara ODRIOZOLA LECUONA (5)+05:1952Luna-Marie WEBER LAU (55)+07:5153Julia POPIECH (8)+07:5154Kate Ketrina SKUJINA (82)+07:5155June NOTHUM (53)+07:5156Naia TORRENT DEL CID (6)+07:5157Lou-Anne HALTER (46)+07:51The championships take a rest day on Monday and resume on Tuesday 6 October with the junior mixed team time trial at 10:00 Irish and the elite team time trial at 14:30.PhotosPhotography by UEC Sprint Cycling Agency2026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - - photo Roberto Bettini/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Start - - photo Roberto Bettini/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Scenery - photo Ilario Biondi/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Scenery - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Scenery - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Scenery - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Scenery - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Leni Burger (GER) - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Germany - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - France - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Germany - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Azzurra Ballan (ITA - Breganze Millenium) - photo Ivan Benedetto/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Azzurra Ballan (Italy) - Morgane Lastrade (France) - Klara Dworatzek (GER) - photo Roberto Bettini/SprintCyclingAgency20262026 UEC Road European Championships - Ljubljana Slovenia - Women Junior Road Race - Sencur - Sencur 66,3 km - 04/10/2026 - Azzurra Ballan (ITA - Breganze Millenium) Morgane Lestrade (FRA) Klara Dworatzek (GER - Mirat Team) - photo Ilario Biondi/SprintCyclingAgency202614 photosThe post UEC Road European Championships; Results & Photos Day Three appeared first on IrishCyclingNews.com | Irish Cycling News | IrishCycling.
