Visions new SC 45 i30 wheels have already seen competitive action under Merida-sponsored Norwegian elite gravel racer Marius Rren and Australian ultra-rider Lachlan Morton.The new gravel wheelset follows the current template for wider aero profiles with a greater internal width to suit larger 50mm tyres.Vision says the all-new SC 45 i30 wheelset is optimised for modern wide gravel tyres. That's borne out by the ETRTO recommendations for a 30mm internal hooked profile. The 30mm width is ideal for tyres between 47 and 71mm according to ETRTO standards. The hubs use sealed-cartridge bearings (two in the front, four at the rear) in oversized hub shells.The flanges are designed to work specifically with straight-pull spokes. The wheel uses bladed aero spokes in a 2:1 cross pattern. The hubs use direct-pull spokes, and the spokes are bladed aero. The rim is 30mm wide internally, which should be ideal for larger-volume gravel tyres.
