Special edition of Dublins Bike Bop cycle to take place on Wednesday afternoon
A few tickets are also left for Tom Floods Reframing Road Safety talk on Tuesday.With Tom Flood one of the worlds best-known communicators on active travel in Dublin this week, a special edition of the Bike Bop cycle is to take place at an earlier time of 3pm on Wednesday, September 23rd.The Bike Bop cycles are group cycles that usually have a number of cargo bikes carrying speakers playing music, and the cycle take place at a relaxed pace. They include the monthly critical mass cycles in Dublin, similar events in other towns and cities and one-off events for different groups.I Bike Dublin, the campaign group which organises the usual monthly cycles, said: As you may have heard by now, the amazing Tom Flood is in town next week and we are going to have a special edition of our Bike Bop on the afternoon of Wednesday 23rd Sept.If you want to take part, you can meet the group at Unit 18, Macken St at 3pm on Wednesday for what the group says will be a leisurely bike ride around the city. It is to finish at 4pm on Capel Street.Tickets left for talk on Tuesday after move to larger venueThe day before, Tom Flood whose work used to include car advertising but who turned his skills to promoting road safety and mobility beyond cars is to give a talk in Dublin on September 22nd. There are still a limited number of tickets for this.After the tickets sold out for the original smaller venue, the event moved to the Dargan Auditorium at the Trinity Business School. It will run from 7-9pm, with the talk lasting around 45 minutes and a Q&A session following. It is free, but booking is required viaeventbrite.ie.The Tuesday event is being organised by Trinity Sustainability, the Jesuit Centre for Faith and Justice, the Irish Cycling Campaign, the Irish Doctors for the Environment, I Bike Dublin, and the Dublin Commuter Coalition.IMAGE: A map of the route of Wednesdays cycle.
