"We're giving riders more ways to find the perfect balance" Continental adds 13 new Gravity tyre combinations to its range
Continental has expanded its Gravity mountain bike tyre range with 13 new size, casing and compound combinations across the Argotal, Kryptotal and Xynotal tread patterns.Rather than introducing a new tread, the German brand has opened up more ways to combine its existing casings and rubber compounds. All 13 additions are 2.4in wide, with options for 27.5in and 29in wheels. The biggest change is the wider availability of Continentals SuperSoft compound with its Enduro casing. SuperSoft is the brands stickiest gravity rubber and prioritises grip, damping and control. Pairing it with the lighter Enduro construction should appeal to racers and aggressive riders who want plenty of grip without the weight of Continentals reinforced Downhill casing.Continental has also added more Trail Soft options. These combine the brands lightest Gravity casing with its descending-focused Soft compound, which sits between SuperSoft and the longer-lasting Endurance rubber. Continental The Xynotal gains Enduro SuperSoft and Trail Soft versions for both 27.5in and 29in wheels. Designed for hardpack and rocky trails, it is the fastest-rolling tread in Continentals Gravity range. There are four additions for the rear-specific Kryptotal Re, with Enduro SuperSoft and Trail Soft constructions offered in both wheel sizes. The Kryptotal Fr receives the same two combinations in 27.5in.Argotal riders get a 27.5in Enduro SuperSoft option, while Trail Soft versions will be available for 27.5in and 29in wheels. Its more open tread is intended for loose ground and offers more space for dirt to clear between the knobs.Continentals wider Gravity range currently consists of five tread patterns. The front and rear-specific Kryptotals cover mixed conditions, the Xynotal targets hard and rocky trails and the Argotal is intended for loose terrain. The Hydrotal remains the specialist mud tyre. The mixed-conditions Kryptotal Fr and Re also remain available in 20in, 24in and 26in sizes, giving younger riders and owners of older bikes access to the same tread design. All 13 new tyres have black sidewalls. Continental has yet to provide full UK pricing, claimed weights or an on-sale date.Alexander Haenke, product manager for MTB & gravel at Continental, says:MTB riders have very different needs depending on where and how they ride."With these 13 new tire combinations, we are giving riders even more ways to find the perfect balance of grip, control and durability for their individual setup."Whether they are racing enduro, pushing their limits on technical trails or simply looking for maximum confidence on the descents, our expanded Gravity range offers the performance and flexibility they need.Continental Gravity range and pricing information The expanded range is intended to make it easier for riders to find their perfect setup.
