All the pro cycling transfers for 2027: Valentin Madouas and Mikel Landa among early announcements
Pro cycling does not really have a transfer window, with teams allowed to announce moves whenever they like for next season, given agreement between the relevant parties. However, August is when announcements start to occur for 2027, out of habit if nothing else, and some moves have already been revealed.Rather than announcing each transfer individually, we will collect together all the transfers in the men's WorldTour and Women's WorldTour pelotons here, as and when they are officially revealed.Officially, August 1 is the opening of the first registration period 1 to 15 August in which riders can switch teams, with another registration period from October to the end of the year, but in practice, it is the start of announcements for 2026. However, if a rider is to change teams mid-season, that deal needs to be done now.The news does not need to be confirmed until 31 December, but those canny marketing departments at teams know when to let things be made public. This page will be updated throughout the rest of the year, as more is confirmed. We will write more about the bigger moves, and list the rest down below.Big movesMikel Landa returns to Euskaltel-EuskadiBasque climber Mikel Landa will rejoin the team where he began his professional career, Euskaltel-Euskadi, from 2027. The 36-year-old, a two-time podium finisher at the Giro d'Italia, will leave Soudal Quick-Step after three years with the Belgian squad."I turned professional thanks to this organisation, and returning here at this stage of my career is deeply meaningful to me personally," he said. "I arrive with great enthusiasm and a strong desire to contribute to the teams sporting project. I feel I still have the strength and experience needed to achieve great results and give the fans something to cheer about."Mauro Schmid joins Pinarello Q36.5(Image credit: Getty Images)Tour de France stage winner Mauro Schmid will ride for Pinarello Q36.5 instead of Jayco AlUla next season, linking up again with team boss Doug Ryder. Doug gave me the opportunity to turn professional, so there was already a strong connection, Schmid said in a press release. But what really convinced me was seeing how much the team has evolved over the last two or three seasons. Especially as a Swiss rider, becoming part of this project makes it even more special."Valentin Madouas heads to CofidisFormer French national champion Valentin Madouas will "relaunch" his career with ProTeam Cofidis, after nine years with Groupama-FDJ United. The 30-year-old said the "decision was a matter of the heart".Men's WorldTour transfersAlpecin-Premier TechIn: Ivn Garca Cortina (Movistar), Casper van Uden (Picnic PostNL), Madis Mihkels (EF Education-EasyPost)Bahrain VictoriousDecathlon CMA CGMEF Education-EasyPostIn: Gavin Sherry, Juan Felipe Rodriguez (both EF Education-Aevolo)Out: Madis Mihkels (Alpecin-Premier Tech)Groupama-FDJ UnitedOut: Valentin Madouas (Cofidis)Jayco AlUlaOut: Mauro Schmid (Pinarello Q36.5)Lotto-IntermarchLidl-TrekMovistarIn: Javier Cubillas (Movistar Academy)Out: Ivn Garca Cortina (Alpecin-Premer Tech)Netcompany-IneosOut: Victor Langelliotti (XDS Astana)NSN CyclingPicnic PostNLOut: Casper van Uden (Alpecin-Premier Tech)Red Bull-Bora-hansgroheSoudal Quick-StepOut: Mikel Landa (Euskaltel-Euskadi)UAE Team Emirates-XRGUno-X MobilityVisma-Lease a BikeXDS Astana In: Victor Langelliotti (Netcompany-Ineos)Out: Slorian Kajamini (MBH Bank CSB Telecom Fort)Women's WorldTour transfersAG Insurance-SoudalCanyon-SRAMIn: Jasmin Liechti (NEXETIS)EF Education-OatlyFDJ United-SUEZIn: Kate CourtneyFenix-Premier TechHuman Powered HealthLidl-TrekLiv AlUla JaycoMovistarPicnic PostNLSD Worx-ProtimeUAE Team L'IMADUno-X MobilityVisma-Lease a Bike
