However, as soon as the pace picks up on rougher descents, the Checkpoint starts to show its limitations. The front end becomes noticeably twitchy and loses some of its composure. While it does not come close to the nervous nature of extreme race bikes, it still means that you lose a little bit of confidence at high speed.Its true strength for everyday gravel riding lies in long-distance comfort, thanks to Treks clever frame design. This is where the Checkpoint really scores with its signature IsoSpeed system at the rear, which absorbs harsh surfaces remarkably well, without making the bike feel sluggish or vague under power.
