Visma-Lease a Bike domestique Bruno Armirail looked in pain on stage three of the Tour de France after he was involved in a mass crash with around 182km to go.The Frenchman appeared to go down first and hit his knee hard as the peloton moved through a small town. While he remounted, he was shown clutching his knee and with a broken shoe.The crash happened at the front of the peloton, and also took out Mathias Vacek (Lidl-Trek) and Netcompany-Ineos riders Tobias Foss, Thymen Arensman, and Micha Kwiatkowski. Matthew Riccitello (Decathlon CMA CGM) was affected by the incident too.Armirail was shown getting treatment from the doctor's car in the aftermath. The crash briefly blocked the road, as the race headed onto the Cte de Saint Feliu de Codines, with gaps opening up in the peloton with most of the day still to come.
