This folding helmet can protect your head in under 10 seconds
Folding helmets offer an interesting solution for space-starved commuters looking to keep the head protected on short rider. On display at Eurobike 2026, Seira's folding helmet looks to fit the bill well, with the design incorporating a folding mechanism that is retained in place by a Boa-style dial. It looks like the brand has taken inspiration from the natural world, with the helmet featuring an armadillo-like design. The helmet appears to be easier to fit into a backpack compared to other folding designs. Nick Clark / Our Media The helmet comes in two sizes, M and L, and is made from a high-tenacity polyester fabric, EPS and polycarbonate. The open, or spread, size of the L helmet is 345x445x53mm, and it weighs 460g, so it should easily fit into backpacks. The brand doesn't claim much in the way of safety features, though portions on the side of the helmet ensure a snug fit. There are vents in the helmet to enable airflow while you're riding. Nick Clark / Our Media Seira says the design enables various patterns to be printed on the shell, and is looking at supplying the helmet to micro mobility companies to add safety to their fleet. Folding or unfolding the helmet takes under 10 seconds, with straps and a Boa-style dial keeping it in place.
