RSA survey seeking experiences of cycling in Ireland to inform road safety initiatives
Irelands Road Safety Authority is looking for regular cyclists and those who have been involved in a collision as a cyclist in the last five years to fill out their National Cyclist Safety Survey. The survey is for people aged 17 and over, and is estimated to take 15 minutes to complete. Participants can be entered into a draw to win a 200 voucher. The RSA said it hopes to bridge the gap between hospital and Garda data and gain more insight into cycling collisions. The survey asks people about their experiences on the road while cycling, including whether they have been involved in a collision in the last five years and the circumstances surrounding those incidents. The RSA said: The initiative forms part of the RSAs ongoing work to improve cyclist safety and to build a more complete picture of the factors contributing to serious injuries among cyclists. The survey will also seek cyclists broader views on sharing the road with other road users and everyday cycling behaviours. The survey is being conducted by polling company Ipsos B&A, and can be filled out at https://banda.social/RSA_Cyclists.
