Hit-and-run driver left man in his 20s with serious injuries on road in Dublin this morning
A man in his 20s was knocked off his bicycle and left on the road with serious injuries this morning after the hit-and-run driver left the scene of the collision on Shangan Road, Dublin 9, shortly before 8am.A Garda spokesperson said: Garda and emergency services attended the scene of a serious hit and run road traffic collision that occurred this morning, Tuesday, June 9th, 2026 at approximately 7.45am.The collision involved a car and a male pedal cyclist. The male pedal cyclist, aged in his 20s, was taken from the scene to the Mater Misericordiae Hospital with serious injuries. The car left the scene, said the spokesperson in a Garda Press Office statement.Garda said the road is currently closed and that the scene is being technically examined by local Crime Scene Investigators. The spokesperson said: Garda are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward. Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the area at the time are asked to make it available to investigating Garda.Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact Ballymun Garda Station on 01 666 4400, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
