A man in his 40s, who was cycling on the Dublin Road on the outskirts of Limerick City, has died after sustaining injuries in an incident yesterday. In a statement, the Garda Press Office said: Garda are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic incident on the Dublin Road, Mountshannon, Limerick City on Tuesday 26th May 2026. The incident involving a bicycle occurred shortly after 2:00pm.Its understood that the man was helped by passers-by before he left the scene and travelled to a domestic residence. After this, he was treated by the emergency services, but he was pronounced deceased yesterday afternoon.The Garda statement outlines that the incident happened on Dublin Road in Limerick City, in the townland of Mountshannon, between Annacotty and The Mackey Roundabout at the N7 interchange.
