Eurobike moves venue and dates for 2027 in huge shakeup for troubled show
Eurobike will run in September and move to a new part of the Frankfurt exhibition centre for 2027 as part of a push for "the return of leading bike brands", the cycling trade fair announced today. The changes follow months of unrest surrounding Eurobike, with major exhibitors withdrawing support, industry bodies planning a rival trade fair and growing criticism over the direction of what was once cyclings most influential industry event. Eurobike 2027 will take place from 1 to 3 September and occupy Halls 3, 4 and 5 on the eastern side of Messe Frankfurt, centred around the venues Agora outdoor area. According to the organisers, the moves will create "new opportunities for test tracks and demo areas", and encourage a stronger B2B focus in an effort to reset the future of the show. The trade show previously took place in the run-up to final weekend of August, but it moved to mid-July in 2018. The decision was criticised by many in the industry because it clashed with the height of the summer sales season and the Tour de France, creating logistical headaches for brands, retailers and media staff. The event shifted earlier still following its move from Friedrichshafen to Frankfurt in 2022. This years show is scheduled to take place from 25 to 29 June. In a statement issued today, Eurobike's organisers said feedback gathered from around 50 industry interviews and a customer survey showed "the majority of the industry clearly favoured September". Organisers say the reworked event will place a stronger emphasis on trade visitors, with a "clear B2B orientation" focused on workshops, training, start-ups, innovation and media activity.
