Turner Introduces Venn Titanium Bike Packing Rig, Gila Single Speed & More!
Ever since Turner Bikes went all Ti, weve seen several exciting new titanium bikes spring from the mind of Dave Turner. This year is no different as the brand adds two completely new models plus a number of updates and even Ti components across the line. VennThe Venn is Turners new do-everything/bikepacking bike, and the 29 x 3.0 tire clearance certainly fits the bill. The frame is equipped with slider dropouts with a UDH and even belt drive compatibility. Designed around a 120-130mm travel fork, the frame has a 2,220g claimed weight and will sell for $2,600 for the frame. The frame will have the option of a titanium bike packing fork, which is currently in the works. If you look closely, the fork on the Venn is slightly different than the one above, and the design isnt finalized yet. Gila SSFor the single-speed purists out there, the Gila is single-speed optimized with a slider dropout offering 25mm of adjustment. However, there is a UDH in case you want to throw some gears on down the road. The frame is belt drive compatible and designed around a 120-130mm travel fork. The claimed frame weight is 2,150g (medium), and will sell for $2,600 for the frame only. CyclosysOn the gravel side, the Cyclosys is being updated with new 3D-printed hollow Ti dropouts while adding a SRAM UDH. That makes it compatible with 1x, 2x, or any wireless drivetrain option. Tire clearance is now 700c x 50mm, or 650b x 54mm, and the frame is dropper-compatible. Claimed weight is 1850g for a medium frame, and the frame fork and headset will sell for $2,800. DeWulf CruiserNo longer a prototype, the DeWulf retro-styled MTB is now in production with huge 29 x 2.8 or 27.5 x 2.8 tire clearance. The Slider dropout includes a UDH and is belt drive compatible. The frame is meant for 120-130mm travel forks with a 2,300g claimed weight for a medium and a $3,200 price for the frame only. Other Frame UpdatesTurner was also showing off some of the new 3D printed frame details plus a new titanium seat post design. Those 3D printed details have allowed the frames to offer more tire clearance with increased stiffness, and even allow for better internal routing thanks to hidden bowls on the other side of the ports that help guide cables through the openings. Impressively, the ports are not drilled into the frame, theyre actually welded into place, with finish work that makes the welding nearly invisible. Well leave you with this Retro-tastic Nitrous build from one of Turners customers. turnerbikes.comThe post Turner Introduces Venn Titanium Bike Packing Rig, Gila Single Speed & More! appeared first on Bikerumor.

Rule 28s New Gravel Suit Has Nothing to Do with Rule #28 and Flat Out Breaks Rule #32
Ok, lets unpack this. Wait, first, let me start by saying the words gravel and skinsuit are two words that I would rather not share the same space. But aero specialists, Rule 28 think otherwise as today, they release their new Gravel Suit. This is a skinsuit that is designed for gravel racing and has a hydration bladder sleeve built into the back of it.(Photos/Rule 28)Ok, lets go over a few rules. What rules? While they dont come right out and say it, its safe to say that Rule 28 based its name on the infamous Velominati rules. If you dont know what those are, it probably means you just go and ride your bike for fun without worrying what anyone else thinks of you. For those that strictly follow the rules, lets discuss. Take, for instance, actual Rule #28: Socks can be any damn color you like. That makes sense and is a perfectly good example of a rule that can be adhered to.And Rule #26: Make your bike photogenic. Now, I break this rule once in a while. Rarely when I snap a trailside shot of my bike are my valve stems at 6 oclock. Plus, my crank arms are usually all over the place, its a real mess sometimes. But Rule #32 clearly states: Humps are for camels: NO HYDRATION PACKS. It then goes on to state that hydration packs are never to be seen on a road riders body. No argument will be entered into on this. For MTB, they are cool. And therein lies the rub, Gravel is not road sneaky Rule 28, very sneaky. Im Mostly KiddinOk, for all of you ready to break some rules, lets talk about what Rule 28 offers with their new Gravel Suit. Rule 28 says that they developed the Gravel Suit with the demands and feedback of elite gravel racers in mind. Rule 28 is a longtime sponsor of professional gravel racer and YouTuber Dylan Johnson. Dylan JohnsonJohnson had this to say: Last year we went to the wind tunnel and found out that a USWE pack actually improved aerodynamics. Rule 28 took that idea and ran with it for the gravel suit, creating a pretty genius solution for carrying fluid and making you faster at the same time. Sorry, CamelBak the creating a pretty genius solution for carrying fluid award goes to Rule 28, according to 27-year-old Johnson. But SeriouslyGravel racing is getting a lot faster and getting a lot more like road racing. Rule 29 says that this is the reason theyve turned their expertise to the discipline, saying that providing aero gains is no longer confined to the tarmac and track. Ok, I get that. The new Gravel Suit utilizes a 1.5L capacity pouch at the rear to hold a water bladder securely. They say it even stays in place over rough terrain, say as in a gravel race course, eliminating the need for a backpack during ultra-distance races.Hose Loops. Rule 28 days the pouch ensures easy enough access that water refills are quick through feed stations. Plus, there are two loops at the shoulder of the suit to hold the hose in place. Just Like their Tri SuitRule 28 drew inspiration from their Tri Suit pattern. Although the Gravel Suit has been optimized for a slightly more upright position, unlike the flatter back of the Road and TT Suits. Ribbed arm panels come up and over the shoulder to form a raglan sleeve, allowing the tripping of airflow over the back. Getting specific Rule 28 utilized the same fabrics as their existing aero range and says the Gravel Suit was developed for speeds between 30-45kph (18-28mph).Ultra-distance racing demands a lot of effective fueling. For that reason, the two nutrition pockets on the rear of the Gravel Suit are larger than those on their Road Suit, providing ample storage. The Gravel Suit to Debut at UNBOUNDRule 28 says the Gravel Suit represents their continued pursuit of industry-leading aerodynamic apparel, designed for those loyal to speed and not confined to one discipline. The Gravel Suit is only the beginning of an exciting lineup of new performance offerings coming soon.Look for the Gravel Suit at UNBOUND this year as it will be worn by the Felt UN1TED team.Rule28.comThe post Rule 28s New Gravel Suit Has Nothing to Do with Rule #28 and Flat Out Breaks Rule #32 appeared first on Bikerumor.
