Garda are seeking witnesses or footage of a serious single-vehicle collision where a passenger on what is described as an e-bike in Portlaoise, Co Laois, last night at around 11am.A Garda Press Office spokesperson said: Shortly after 11pm, emergency services and Garda attended the scene of a serious collision involving an e-bike on the N80, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise. A male passenger in his early teens sustained serious injuries and was taken to hospital.The child is currently receiving treatment at CHI Temple Street, where his condition is understood to be critical.Its unclear at this point whether the vehicle involved was an electric bicycle, moped, or motorcycle. The driver, an adult male in his late teens, received medical assessment at the scene. Its understood no other vehicle was involved. The scene has been examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, and the road has since reopened, the spokesperson said. The spokesperson added: Garda are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.
