- WWW.IRISHCYCLINGNEWS.COMRichael Timothy wins at the UEC European ChampionshipsIt was another medal filled day for Irish athletes at this years UEC Para Cycling European Championships in Maniago, Italy.Richael Timothy added a European Championship title road race title to her tally for the weekend, having taken bronze in the individual time trial on Friday in the WC3 class. Timothy beat Dutch rider Aniek van den Aarssen and French rider Tifany Huot Marchand in a sprint at the line.In the WC4 road race Heather Jameson added another bronze medal to her own TT bronze from Friday, bringing to a close a very successful debut European Championships for the Dubliner.The tandem pairing of Sinead Greenan and Alice Sharpe continued their strong first year together as they took silver in the WB category, and were joined on the podium by road and TT world champion, and recent TT European champion pairing Katie-George Dunlevy and Linda Kelly in third.In the MB category race Paralympian partners Damien Vereker and Mitchell McLaughlin brought their tandem home in ninth, followed by first year pairing Ciaran OToole and Con Scully in 11th.Hand bike riders Allister MacSorley and Steven McGowan were in action yesterday.
