- WWW.BIKERADAR.COM"A pros position isnt right for everyone" Ribble's new endurance bike is faster for real-world ridersRibble has announced the release of a pair of new bikes, with the new Ultra-Road endurance bike completing the Lancashire brand's high-performance line-up. Meanwhile, the new Allroad brings value-packed all-day comfort. The Ultra-Road combines high-performance aerodynamics and endurance geometry, becoming the brand's new flagship long-distance road bike. The new release is part of Ribbles top-of-the-line Ultra series. Joining the Ultra-Aero, Ultra-Race and Ultra-Grit, the Ultra-Road is the first of Ribbles premium range not to be aimed purely at racers. However, it does come with UCI approval. The new Allroad Carbon has evolved from Ribbles Allroad SL. Ribble says the new model brings another level of smooth riding on everything from tarmac to broken, unmetalled roads. Builds of both bikes can be upgraded with a new 'Aero Pack' option, upgrading the alloy rims and two-piece bar and stem to an integrated carbon cockpit and Mavic Cosmic S 42 carbon wheels. These are the most popular upgrades chosen by Ribble customers, so it decided to offer them as a bundle. The 700 option saves riders more than 400 compared to the individual component costs, according to Ribble. 2026 Ribble Ultra-Road The Ultra-Road shares plenty of aerodynamic design cues with its race-ready siblings. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The Ultra-Road's design takes the aerodynamic approach of the Ultra series and matches it to a more achievable and sustainable riding position. Ribbles CEO, Sean Hastings, explains: Theres a belief in cycling that an aggressive position means youll be faster." He continues: Most riders cant maintain an extreme position for long. When they try, fatigue builds, power drops and riding is less enjoyable; trying to emulate a pros riding position isnt right for everyone. ULTRA-ROAD is designed around that insight its a performance road bike with a fit that most riders will actually perform better on. The hourglass head-tube shape is borrowed from the Ultra-Race. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia Andy Turner, founder of ATP Performance Cycle Coaching, agrees: A less aggressive position is far more likely to yield the fastest position in the real world, especially for your typical club rider or experienced amateur." 2026 Ribble Ultra-Road | What you need to know High-end carbon M46 and T1000 carbon materials, full monocoque frame design New carbon aero-comfort seatpost designed to dampen road buzz Lighter (sub-1kg) frame and improved bottom-bracket stiffness over the Allroad SLR Aero tube shaping, aero-integrated bottle cages UCI-approved Flagship model weighs in at 7.5kg Includes internal frame storage in the down tube, mudguard compatibility, wide gearing options and clearance for up to 38mm tyres 2026 Ribble Ultra-Road details The Ultra-Road uses the aero cages from the Ultra-Race. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The Ultra-Road has a similar sculpted head tube profile to the Ultra-Race and the aero down tube uses the same blended aero bottle cages. A down-tube storage port adds practicality and a UDH dropout makes it future-proof. With Ribble bikes being designed in the UK, we get proper mudguard mounts as standard (something often omitted from high-end endurance bikes). The Ultra-Road also has generous 38mm tyre clearances. The geometry has a higher stack and shorter reach than the race-ready Ultra-Aero and Ultra-Race road bikes. There's a generous down-tube storage port. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia 2026 Ribble Ultra-Road pricing and range details Mavic's Cosmic S 42 is the wheelset of choice for the Aero Pack upgrade. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The Ultra-Road is available in Slate Grey Metallic and Damson Metallic, plus a limited-edition, hand-painted Iridescent White Metallic colourway. Groupset options include Shimano 105 Di2, Ultegra Di2 and Dura-Ace Di2, and SRAM Force AXS and Red AXS with wheelset options. The 105 Di2 model can be upgraded with an Aero Pack. The bike shown here (which I have on test) is the Ultra-Road 105 Di2 with Aero Pack. That means a full Shimano 105 Di2 groupset, along with Ribbles one-piece aero cockpit and Mavics Cosmic S 42 wheelset. The complete bike is priced at 3,799. Ultegra models and above come with the aero cockpit and carbon wheels as standard. Pricing starts at 2,599, with a Dura-Ace build available for 5,999. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The 2026 Allroad Carbon brings plenty of updates to the original Allroad SL design. Up front, its a full redesign. Adding fully integrated cable routing and the new fork brings added aero details such as the covered thru-axle dropout. Ribble has also worked on the construction and materials, and it claims the new Allroad is significantly lighter than the older SL. The newly designed fork has increased tyre clearance to 35mm, and the same is true of the frame. A UDH dropout and proper mudguard eyelets bring it in line with the Ultra-Road. The Allroad Carbon gets large 38mm tyre clearance and proper mudguard provision. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia 2026 Ribble Allroad Carbon pricing and range details The Aero Pack upgrade includes this aero one-piece carbon cockpit. Warren Rossiter / Ourmedia The Allroad Carbon is available in Deep Blue Metallic and Silver Sage Metallic, also with a variety of groupset options (Shimano Tiagra, 105 and Ultegra) and wheelset choices, with the option to upgrade base models with the Aero Pack.
