"I work my ass off to win and I dont do this for anyone else" - Mads Pedersen eager for 'ridiculous' Paris-Roubaix
Mads Pedersen crashed just over two months ago, suffering fractures in a collarbone and wrist on opposite sides. Logic would dictate that riding cobbled classics within month and a half at a high level would be near impossible, but the Dane has done it. Now, he looks to cap off his spring campaign w...

"He benefits from a very tough race" - How rival teams look at Tadej Pogacar and how may they united against him in Roubaix
Paris-Roubaix is a race that historically has seen big surprises. Most recently, this happened in 2016, 10 years ago, where Matthew Hayman took the top step in what is widely regarded as one of the best races in modern cycling. Nowadays it is harder to do so with the difference in level between the...

Pogaar will race Paris-Roubaix on enormous 38mm-wide tyres and a 1x drivetrain but no tubeless inserts
Tadej Pogaar will ride ParisRoubaix 2026 on a Colnago Y1RS Dark Edition fitted with 35mm-wide Continental GP 5000 S TR tyres that measure 38mm when mounted to his 25mm-wide ENVE SES wheels. The reigning World Champion will also run a 56-tooth 1x drivetrain. As far as were aware, this is only the second time the Slovenian superstar has used 1x in a road race following his win at Milan-San Remo 2026. Read more: How to watch Paris-Roubaix 2026 | Global options for live TV and streaming Right on the limit Pogaar's bike for Paris-Roubaix 2026. Ash Quinlan / Our Media Tyre tech is always the key talking point of Paris-Roubaix, with riders opting for ever wider options in recent years. 32mm has become the de-facto norm, but Pogaar takes this further than anyone yet, opting for 35mm tyres. The tyres measure 38mm wide mounted. Ash Quinlan / Our Media When mounted to his ENVE SES wheels, these measure closer to 38mm. This setup likely tickles the absolute limit of the UCIs regulations, which limits a wheel and tyre combo to a maximum diameter of 700mm. A 40mm tyre mounted to a 700c wheel generally sits outside this limit, so a 38mm tyre is likely to be close to this. Read more: From tyre width to weight limits, these are the 6 rules the UCI needs to ditch The team will be praying for dry conditions. Felix Smith / Our Media It also pushes his Colnago Y1RS tyre clearance to the max, with only a small gap between the crown of the fork and the tyre. The weather in the run-up to the race and the forecast for Sunday is currently dry, so dusty conditions will prevail at Roubaix. If wetter conditions were expected, the team would likely have to use a narrower tyre. He's opted for the slightly sturdier GP 5000 S TR over Continental's fastest tyres. Ash Quinlan / Our Media His rear tyre is more conventional at 32mm wide, though it again measures wider than the stated width closer to 35mm. The tyres are mounted to hookless ENVE SES wheels. Hes running the 60mm deep 6.7 up front and the 56mm deep 4.5 out back. Pogaar will not run inserts at Paris-Roubaix. An ENVE spokesperson present at the team bus explained that the brand doesnt recommend using inserts with its wheels. This position stands apart from other riders and teams weve spoken to, who value the run-flat security of inserts. Read more: These foam rings might save your life so why does nobody care about them? 1x for the the second time The 56t chainring comes courtesy Carbon-Ti. Ash Quinlan / Our Media Another key Roubaix-specific change for Pogaar is the move to 1x. The rolling parcours of Roubaix suit 1x, so its a common switch among riders for the race, offering a moderate reduction in weight and improved aero performance. Read more: Why do riders choose 1x groupsets for Paris-Roubaix? Speaking to BikeRadar, a team mechanic said the team had tested running 1x throughout December, but no final decision was taken for Roubaix until this week, when Pogaar finally settled on a single chainring. A K-Edge chain catcher takes the place of the front derailleur. Ash Quinlan / Our Media Pogaar is using a 56t CarbonTi chainring mounted to 165mm long Dura-Ace R9200 cranks. With no clutch, Shimano doesnt officially endorse 1x with its Dura-Ace road groupsets, so a K-Edge chain catcher is used to improve retention on the cobbled sectors. Hes also switched from his previous Frames and Gear direct-mount Shimano hanger to a Carbon-Ti option in keeping with the rest of the tasty lightweight mods on his bike. The stripped-back 'Dark Edition' frameset raced last season by Pogaar is now available to buy. Ash Quinlan / Our Media Pogaar finished last year's race without a computer after his infamous crash. Ash Quinlan / Our Media We expect these might be the widest tyres we see at Roubaix. Ash Quinlan / Our Media
