New Continental Terra Competition tyres are designed for low weight and aerodynamics for all-road riders
CyclistNew Continental Terra Competition tyres are designed for low weight and aerodynamics for all-road ridersContinental has announced the latest addition to its gravel tyre range, the Terra Competition, which it says is its fastest ever gravel tyre, featuring a lightweight, aero construction.Conti says its ideal for light off-road and tarmac, blurring the line between road and gravel riding and pushing the Terra range further into all-road use. The tyre is available with two different compounds tuned for different riding styles, paired with either a Race or a Trail casing.According to Alexander Haenke, MTB and Gravel Product Manager at Continental Tyres: We set out to create the Terra Competition for riders who dont want to choose between road speed and off-road capability. As more riders mix surfaces and push performance, the demand for a fast, yet versatile tyre continues to grow. Terra Competition delivers that balance, combining efficiency on tarmac with the confidence needed when the route turns to gravel. As is typical for fast-rolling gravel tyres, theres a near-continuous central tread for low friction on firmer surfaces coupled with shoulder knobs for increased grip off-road and when cornering. The tyre has a single ply casing with sidewall protection, includes a puncture protection breaker and Contis BlackChilli compound. Its tubeless-ready and compatible with hookless wheel rims.Options for different ride stylesChoose the lighter, more supple Race casing and Conti uses its Rapid compound, designed for speed and acceleration. In 35mm width, Conti claims a 345g tyre weight, saving up to 68g from the current Terra Speed tyre. At the same time theres a 17% reduction in rolling resistance and claimed aero benefits.Other widths available are 40mm, with a 420g claimed weight, and 45mm, weighing 470g. Its sold with black sidewalls only. The Trail casing has a more robust single ply casing and is paired with Grip compound. Conti says it offers greater traction, compliance and puncture protection for more demanding gravel use. There are the same 35mm, 40mm and 45mm width options with weights of 410g for the 35mm, 465g for the 40mm and 530g for the 45mm. There are black and tan sidewall options. The new Continental Terra Competition tyre joins the Terra Hardpack, Terra Speed, Terra Trail and Terra Adventure in Continentals gravel tyre range, which it claims now spans surface conditions from tarmac to mud. It has a 59.30 / $76.26 / 68.95 recommended price. The post New Continental Terra Competition tyres are designed for low weight and aerodynamics for all-road riders appeared first on Cyclist.

Time Out for Managers: Coaching Camp & Fresh Perspectives in the Bregenzerwald
We headed high into the Bregenzerwald to an alpine pasture where Heidi and Karl-Heinz arent lounging on a terrace, but grazing in the meadow. Those are the names of the cows, calves and oxen here. At night, deer dart through the darkness, chamois leap across the slopes and the stars feel close enough to touch.Far from any big city, we met former CEO and manager Michael Jger a man who spent more than a decade running an international IT company, steering through expansions and crises, conquering markets and leaving them again. Today, hes standing in wellies on damp grass, tending cattle and sharing wine and instant coffee with us. No flipcharts, no KPIs, no pep talks just a time-out to gain fresh perspectives.Uncertainty Is LifeOur climb was steep and uncertain. We had only a rough idea of where the mountain hut should be; the maps contradicted one another, and the directions were vague.. GPS or mobile signal? Forget about it. So we chose the path that felt most right.Along the way, the doubts crept in. Were we even heading the right way? How much further was it? And while we were already questioning things, we realised we didnt really know our host Michael either. What would it be like with him? What was waiting for us up there? If wed been able to answer those questions in advance, we wouldnt have needed to keep climbing. Life can be like that: we trade curiosity and uncertainty for comfort and safety. It sounds sensible at first but its deceptive. When we think that we know what to expect already, life stands still and yet slips by in a flash. The real point of life to live, to experience, to feel gets lost along the way. We may still exist, but weve stopped truly living. We More Than We ThinkWhen we arrive at the hut, Michael greets us with a warm hug. Wed only met briefly once before at a birthday party and now here we were, still strangers in a way, but instantly sensing that the chemistry was right. We was Robin the founder of our magazine, who lives his life firmly on his own terms while keeping the doors wide open for unexpected twists and turns. After all, who really knows what life will look like in five years? Then there was Lena from Stuttgart, who has crafted an extraordinary work-life model for herself: eight months of full-throttle work, followed by four months off to spend the winter surfing in Costa Rica. And finally, Michael the former top executive who, after training as a coach, turned his life completely around and now works independently as a business consultant.Amidst the mountain air, instant coffee, and red wine, our weekend turns into more than just a break: it becomes a shift in perspective, raising questions that often fade into the background of daily life about inner voices, courage, loss, and the freedom to follow your own path. Discover exactly how Michael works as a coach, which thought experiments moved us most, and which questions you can ask yourself to turn a pause into real change, in the full article at our sister magazine DOWNTOWN.Der Beitrag Time Out for Managers: Coaching Camp & Fresh Perspectives in the Bregenzerwald erschien zuerst auf GRAN FONDO Cycling Magazine.
