You Can Buy Tadej Pogaars Limited Edition World Colnago V4Rs for $19k
Just in time for the Road World Championships, Colnago and Tadej Pogaar announce a limited edition Colnago V4Rs. This bike (this model and configuration) is the same one that Tadej will use to race at the World Championships in Zurich on September 29th.Pogaars Limited Edition Colnago V4RsThe model is the same as the one he used to great success with Team UAE over the season, but this one is extra and way more colorful.Colnago channeled their inner Pop-Art artist for the design and colorway, allowing all the major victories achieved by the three-time Maillaut-Jaune to guide their way.Design InspirationHow many professional victories for Tadej Pogaar? Eighty-five victories. That includes four Grand Tours and 14 Classics. Those results landed him on the top of the UCI individual ranking since 2021.Pogaar is a phenomenal cycling talent and a force of nature when it comes to his targeted races. Plus, hes not alone in his cave training and avoiding the cycling public. The guy seems to become more likable with every victory. Each Color Tells a StoryThe color pallet ties together the story of Pogaars major race wins and the historic jerseys that come with the victories:Yellow, to celebrate three Tour de France GC victories (2020, 2021, 2024)Pink, as homage to the 2024 Giro dItalia and the pink jersey he wore for 20 out of 21 stages;Green, to recall Il Lombardia, the Monument Classic that he conquered in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and for Lige-Bastogne-Lige, which he won twice, in 2021 and 2024;Heavenly blue, for Paris-Nice, one of the most prestigious one-week races on the calendar, won in 2023;Blue, the color of Tirreno-Adriatico (victories in 2021-2022) and of the KOM jersey at Giro dItalia (2024);White, the color of the best young rider of the Tour de France, a special classification that Tadej Pogaar won for four years, from 2020 to 2023;Red dots to celebrate the iconic KOM jersey of the Tour de France, a special classification that Tadej won in 2020 and 2021;Bronze, for two precious bronze medals: the one at the Olympics in 2021 and the one obtained at the World Championships in Glasgow in 2023;Purple because, as Tadej stated, you always need something purple in your life. The Slovenian actively participated in creating the bike and gave feedback to personalize his Colnago. This Time its PersonalThe bike and this updated Pogaar design have some unique, one-of-a-kind details. Unlike the above accolades, these details are aesthetically pleasing and functionally add performance to the Pogaar machine.Pogaar LogoThe TP (Tadej Pogaar) logo is visible on the frame, notably on the top tube and seat tube junction. The pattern also appears in other areas on the bike, like the chainstays and throughout the design.Carbon-Ti-imeIf youre a Tadej Pogaar fan really, who isnt these days? You know he rides a mixture of Carbon-Ti chainrings, brake disc rotors, thru-axles, and screws. All these extra gains (or weight reductions) come on the limited edition bikes. The crankset is Shimano Dura-Ace with carbon-Ti carbon fiber structure chain rings and unique engraved logos. The disc brake rotors are Carbon-Ti X-rotor steel carbon 3. What Carbon-Ti calls the highest level of (carbon brake rotors) technology available on the market. The threaded thru-axles are also Carbon-Ti and gold anodized, with a laser-etched graphic reading ColnagoTPCarbon-Ti.The same graphic can be seen also on the screws of the bottle cage, which are in the same gold anodized color and contribute to the bikes overall weight-saving.Custom Enve SES 4.5 WheelsTadej Pogaars custom Enve SES 4.5 Wheels are already super high-end and dont need any mechanical improvement (at least, IMO). So, the wheels are decorated with the same graphic patterns as the frame, giving them a super matchy feel while staying within the ENVE style guide.Prologo Saddle Nago R4 Tadej Pogacar 24A special Prologo Saddle completes the bike, the Prologo Nago R4 Tadej Pogacar 24, with yellow accents and the names of some of Tadejs most important victories emblazoned upon it.Rear derailleur hanger by FramesandgearThe Framesandgear Colnago Disc Brake Direct Mount Derailleur Hanger for V4RS Blue offers precise shifting, improved stiffness, and a lightweight design.Pricing and AvailabilityThe Colnago V4Rs Tadej will be available as a limited edition from September 26th until October 14th.The Colnago V4Rs will be equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2, Enve 4.5 SES Wheelset, and Colnago CC.01 Handlebar at a suggested retail price in Europe of 17,200.00.Pro Bike Check: Tadej Pogaar Wolrds Limited Edition Colnago V4RsGroupset: Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 R9200.Chainrings: Carbon-Ti unique limited edition custom Colnago TP 52-36tCassette: 12-speed, 11-30tWheels: ENVE SES 4.5 special limited edition Colnago V4Rs TadejRotors: Carbon-Ti X-Rotor SteelCarbon 3 160mm front / 140mm rearTires: Pirelli P ZERO Race TLR X 28mm BKSaddle: Prologo Nago R4 Nack 147 Tadej Pogacar 24Handlebar: Colnago CC.01Thru-axles: Threaded thru-axle front 12 L120mm hex 6 Carbon-Ti Gold TP and Threaded thru-axle rear 12 L163mm hex 6 Carbon-Ti Gold TPRear derailleur hanger: Framesandgear Direct Derailleur Mount V4Rs BlueColnago.com The post You Can Buy Tadej Pogaars Limited Edition World Colnago V4Rs for $19k appeared first on Bikerumor.

In The Drops: Liam Gallaghers gloves, mad shoe-socks, cool Chrome bag, To the Limit book and your next TV series
CyclistIn The Drops: Liam Gallaghers gloves, mad shoe-socks, cool Chrome bag, To the Limit book and your next TV seriesSince Ive got you here, lets talk the Cyclist Magazine Podcast. Because I host it with my right honourable colleagues Will and Robyn and this week weve had none other than Tadej Pogaar as our guest. It turns out that Pog is every bit as lovely as he is on the telly, and our chat was every bit as interesting as youd hope. We discussed Pogaars rivalry with Jonas Vingegaard, how he loves and hates wearing the yellow jersey, what he thinks of Remco Evenepoel, his race day prep, coming back from losing and his beast-level abilities. Weve also got a host of bangers coming up for you on the pod, with Ned Boulting up next on 3rd October, Peter Sagan on 17th October, Fabian Cancellara on 31st October and Joanna Rowsell on 14th November.Anyway, personal trumpet tooted, Id like to offer a few other stories that Ive enjoyed sitting down to this weekIm terrible with dates, times and names, so our guide to the World Championships has been a godsend, from favourites to when and where to watch (this is the big weekend for the mens and womens road races). Im also a sucker for a madly expensive bike, so our story on BMCs new Teammachine R Mpc caught my magpies (9,000 just for the frame anyone?), and I cant turn down an inspiring journey that Ill never do. Cue Nick Sanders latest round the world ride. Nick has serious adventuring chops (check out our story on him and rival explorer, Nick Crane the stuff they did in the early years was nuts), and this time around he answered the question none of us knew we needed answering: can you ride around the world on an e-bike? The answer is here, with some cool photos. And then, some tremendously sad news. This week saw the passing of Bob Parlee, founder of Parlee Cycles, godfather of carbon fibre bikes and all round super-lovely guy. Cycling owes a huge debt to Bob and his pioneering vision for a new type of bicycle. Without him you wouldnt be riding what youre probably riding now. I visited him once in Massachusetts, and it remains one of the highlights of my job. Rest in peace Mr Parlee, you will be missed. But now, in that weird often callous-feeling way the news works, its on with the showSkinner Compression 2.0 sock shoesIs it a sock? Is it a shoe? No! Its I dont bloody know, a sooe? A shock? Skinners describes the Compression 2.0 as fusing the functionality of a shoe with the comfort of a sock, which is pretty accurate really (funny, that). Theyre kind of like technical hiking socks with thin rubber soles. The synthetic upper made from Italian fibres no less, as these are the best fibres feels almost like knitted wool, only it holds vastly less moisture when wet and is exceptionally stretchy, compressive even (funny, that too). The sole looks like ground-up car tyres fused together, only its actually made from specially developed polymers and is highly flexible. Then inside is a very thin, removeable, lattice insole. The whole thing is antimicrobial, machine-washable and seamless. So what are the Skinners for? Well, its probably easier to ask what theyre not for. Theyre quite at home padding about a campsite, walking round the pub instead of in your cleats, barefoot trail-running, stomping about stony beaches, sailing, and wearing while you write reviews about them. But whatever, the general idea is these are super-robust, super-light and super-packable they roll up like socks so you can stuff them in a bikepacking bag, kit bag or glove box in readiness for all manner of things.Buy Skinners Compression 2.0 sock shoes from WildBounds (62.90) Related Posts BMC says its new Teammachine R Mpc frameset is the pinnacle of peformance, engineering and manufacturing How to watch the UCI World Championships road races 2024 Best seat in the house: behind the scenes at Fizik Wilier Verticale SLR road bike review To the Limit by Michael CrawleyIm about two-thirds of the way through this book and Im loving it. Michael Crawley is an anthropologist and ultrarunner the perfect combination, one might say, to examine the meaning of endurance. Did you know its considered downright antisocial to go running on your own in Ethiopia? Or that many Rarmuri, the people whose running legend spawned the barefoot craze, actually prefer to run in trainers? Crawley goes to great lengths to bring us such stories, travelling around the globe to interview endurance experts and participate in ultra-challenges himself, and the resulting book is packed full of brilliant tangential discussions, as well as answering the central theme: why do we do it? The chapter on the Enhanced Games a proposed Olympics-type event where doping is encouraged is worth the ticket price alone, so too a brilliant discussion on why fitness trackers arent just potentially highly inaccurate, they might just be ruining fitness altogether.Buy To the Limit from Bloomsbury (18.99)Sealskinz Waterproof All Weather Ultra Grip glovesWhat gloves does Liam Gallagher wear? No its not a joke, its actually these Sealskinz Ultra Grips. For real. The paps got him out walking his dog with a pair on, a dog that Ive just learned is called Buttons and which Liam adopted from Thailand (he didnt actually rescue it, that would have been one Niall Harbison, whom you can find on Instagram saving street dogs maybe get one yourself).Anyway, with 400 tickets helping Oasis gross a predicted 400 million for their reunion tour, its fair to say Liam could probably buy any gloves he wanted, which tells you a lot about how good these Sealskinz gloves are.Think of the Ultras as a refined classic, building on the original ethos of a woolly-type glove with a stretchy waterproof membrane*. Refinements come in the form of a soft merino-wool inner and tougher polycolon (unfortunate name for a girl) outer. The palms and fingers are printed with a silicone pattern for grip, and the tips of the index finger and thumb are woven with touchscreen-compatible fibres. The grip placement works great for cycling as well as holding dog leads, remaining grippy enough in the wet too, and having tried various iterations of Sealskinz gloves over the years, Im pleased to report the fit is much improved. That is, theres enough stretch and room to make a fist but not so much length in the fingers or material in the palm/back of hands to impede dexterity. *20,000mm waterproof rating to be precise, which is up there with the Gore-Texs of this world. For reference, Gore-Tex is 28,000mm; anything over 15,000mm is considered highly waterproof; anything under 5,000mm is really just water-resistant; and that rating is derived by sealing off a 1-inch column of water with the intended material pulled taut, and that number in millimetres is the maximum height of the water column before water starts leaking through.Buy Sealskinz Waterproof All Weather Ultra Grip gloves from Sealskinz (45)Chrome Industries Camden 16L backpackAs Chrome bags go, the Camden almost feels regular, but for many, thats a good thing. Ive long been a fan of Chromes super-rugged backpacks (I have two on the go spanning the last 12 years, and counting) but as my partner is always telling me, they are too much bag. Now, I dont think such a thing is possible, but I concede that theyre heavyweights in the backpack world, and that sometimes more nimble backpacks need apply. Which is where the Camden comes in. At 16 litres this is a daypack/small-commuter-type bag, but it can still fit plenty in and in plenty comfort, thanks to lots of useful inner pockets. Theres a padded 15in laptop sleeve, internal bottle holder (which stretches up to fit a classic bike bottle), and a bunch of others for phone, wallet and pens (if you, like me, still carry a pen; if not, use it for your CBD vape). Then on the outside are three zip pockets, two large ones on the front and one smaller, soft-lined one for glasses on the top.The whole thing is made out of recycled 400D nylon, which is lovely as its more eco-friendly, but also because 400D is ripstop, lightweight and natural water-resistant. The Camden will survive a decent shower. The overall weight is just over 600g, which means nothing to nobody until you think that my Chrome backpack of choice, the Bravo 4.0, weighs 1.3kg.Buy Chrome Industries Camden 16L backpack from Chrome Industries (95)Ad featureSummers not over yet, claim 20% off a Cycling UK membershipEpping Forest group ride, including two of 100 Women in Cycling 2022 Josie Lees and Iona HassanTheres still plenty of time for exciting adventures this year, so why not joinCyclingUKtoday? Here are two I like and one that can do one.Under the Banner of Heaven (Disney+) Andrew Garfield is a Mormon cop solving a grisly murder (like pretty bloody grisly, and I dont grizzle easily). Things to like: Mormons are very interesting to me. I have also been to Salt Lake City/Utah, the home of the Mormons and where this is set, and we all love saying Ive been there. There are also some fun, analogous timelines, a great sense of picket-fence-America weirdness, and I learnt some stuff about Mormons. Because, as I say, they are people of interest. I went to the Mormon Library in Salt Lake City and they researched my family tree for me, and I went to the Salt Lake Tabernacle church, which is sort of like their worshipping lair. So there. The Perfect Couple (Netflix) Nicole Kidman simply hasnt aged (her face is beguilingly youthful shes 57 you know) in this Agatha Christie-style whodunnit. This got loads of good press, but in truth I cant understand why. Its OK, youll end up watching it, but by the end youll wish you hadnt bothered. The reveal is pants and the characters are deeply unlikeable, and not even in a fun way you just hate them and care not for their outcomes. Bonos daughter, Eve Hewson, is great, but youre better off watching her as Becca in Bad Sisters (Apple TV), which is genuinely brilliant.Kaos (Netflix) OK, so Im only a four episodes in, but Kaos is pretty good, bordering on great. Its the Greek myths retold in a kind of 1990s modern day, with Jeff Goldblum as Zeus, who is highly anxious hes losing his grip on power. Its a comedy of sorts, a bit silly in places, a bit grotesque or gory in others, but somehow its eminently likeable and the story is superb. Because lets face it, these are stone-cold banger myths were talking about. You dont hang around for thousands of years being retold unless you are a fantastic tale.So there you go. Another week over. Now get to the pub. Winter Cycling Boots Get Stylish Upgrade with New 45NRTH Oland Leather
It may still be September, but those in northern latitudes know Winter is just around the corner. For many, that means hanging up the bikes for the season. But for the hearty, it simply means a change of scenery and clothing. No one knows that better than 45NRTH. The name says it all, but the winter clothing and tire experts from up north live it every year. Their newest footwear option is called the Oland, and they dont look like your typical cycling boots. Instead, the Olands are built with a premium waterproof leather construction that instantly reminded us of the 45NRTH x Red Wing Leather Limited Edition Wlvhammers. Its important to note that the Olands are NOT made with Red Wing Leather, but the ECCO leather used for the Olands should break in similarly to the Leather Wlvhammers which is part of why those boots have become my favorite winter option. 45NRTH points out that ECCOs leather is made with Bioscavenge and DriTan technology to save and recycle water during manufacturing. Leather Working Group-certified.Inside the Olands, youll find 100g Primaloft insulation which gives them a recommended temperature rating of 20 to 45F / -7 to 7C. Unlike the Wlvhammers, or any other 45NRTH boot, the Olands use a traditional lace closure with a high top cut. The lower lace guides are captured, while the upper two pairs are hooked so you can easily unlace and open the tongue which is required to get your foot in. When it comes to fit, the Olands seem to be right on the money with past 45NRTH boots. I requested a pair of 42s which are the same as my Wlvhammers and Ragnaroks, and the fit is just about perfect with a pair of 45NRTH Swiftwick winter socks (which are definitely thicker than most cycling socks, but not the thickest winter sock). Inside youll find a thin, but sculped Syksol insole. There doesnt appear to be any insulating feature here, just a metatarsal button and a sculpted arch. On the bottom, youll find a real rubber outsole with anti-slip microglass inserts that will continue to provide grip even as the sole wears. The boots are compatible with flat pedals utilizing the included cleat plate, or with two-bolt cleats for clipless pedals. Where these differ from your traditional winter or hiking boot is that the outside shaping is more slender to prevent rubbing against cranks and frames. Also, the back of the upper cuff is made from a more stretchy material to allow it to flex as you pedal. I will say that initially, pedaling in the Olands is a bit stiff, but better than expected and it should only improve as they break in. On the scale, a single 42-size boot checks in at 651g. Compare that to 894g for the same size 45NRTH x Red Wing boot and its clear that the Oland is a good bit lighter. (Above Photos/Jeff Lathrop 45NRTH)The 45NRTH Oland will sell for $260 in sizes 36-44, 46, and 50. Available now. 45NRTH.comThe post Winter Cycling Boots Get Stylish Upgrade with New 45NRTH Oland Leather appeared first on Bikerumor.

Where are the rising stars of the 2014 UCI World Championships now?
CyclistWhere are the rising stars of the 2014 UCI World Championships now?The 2024 UCI Road World Championships are in full swing over in Zrich, Switzerland. Alongside the grandstand elite mens and womens races, the World Championships showcase the next generation of cycling in the mens and womens junior and under-23 competitions. For these young riders, the World Championships is the one time of the year the world gets to tune into youth racing. It is a great place to catch the eye of sponsors, talent scouts and fans alike. For some riders, its the beginning of something big. The likes of Mathieu van der Poel and Remco Evenepoel have won teenage rainbow jerseys on the way to their current greatness. For others, the rainbow curse seemed to kick in from a young age.Today, were going to wind the clock back to the 2014 UCI Road World Championships in Ponferrada, Spain and take a look at how the field of hopeful riders ten years ago are getting on nowadays. A decade on from their under-23 and junior successes, have they managed to build on their achievements, or did they peak too soon? The time-trialsTim de Waele/Corbis via Getty ImagesMens under-23 time-trialCampbell Flakemore, Australia (retired since 2015)Ryan Mullen, Ireland (active on WorldTour level at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe)Stefan Kng, Switzerland (active on WorldTour level at Groupama-FDJ)Gold medalist Campbell Flakemore retired just one year after winning the under-23 time-trial title. The Tasmanian was scooped up by BMC after his Worlds success but was left unconvinced by life in the pro peloton. He moved back to Australia after retiring and went on to become a landscapist in Hobart.Irelands Ryan Mullen missed out on gold by a matter of just half a second in 2014. Mullen, like bronze medalist Stefan Kng, would go on to ride on the UCI WorldTour. Of the three, Kng has been the most successful, winning the European time-trial championship in 2020 and 2021 and the final stage of this years Vuelta a Espaa.Mens junior time-trialLennard Kmna, Germany (active on WorldTour level at Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe)Adrien Costa, USA (retired since 2017)Michael Storer, Australia (active on ProTeam level at Tudor Pro Cycling)Mens junior time-trial champion Lennard Kmna was something of a cycling wunderkind, particularly against the clock. As a fully-fledged pro, Kmna grew into a breakaway specialist at Bora-Hansgrohe. In 2023 he won at stage of the Vuelta to complete his set of victories at all three Grand Tours. Third place finisher in 2014 Michael Storer has also cracked into the top flight of cycling. He has a Giro top ten and a Vuelta stage win to his name.American Adrien Costa, the silver medalist ten years ago, has had a more tumultuous story. The Californian podiumed the Tour de lAvenir and Tour of Utah in 2016 as a teenager, then moved to QuickStep as a stagiaire for a while but no WorldTour contract would follow. In 2017, he retired from cycling while at the Axeon squad. He decided to pursue his studies in Outdoor Leadership and Tourism atOregon State University, however a rock climbing accident in 2018 resulted in Costa receiving an above-the-knee amputation of his right leg.Womens junior time-trialMacey Stewart, Australia (retired since 2018)Pernille Mathiesen, Denmark (retired since 2022)Anna-Leeza Hull, Australia (retired)2014s junior time-trial champion Macey Stewart was a multi-discipline wonder as a world champion on both the track and road. With this, she signed for Orica-AIS in 2015 but would take a year out of the professional peloton to spend time with her terminally ill father. In 2018, the year following his death, Stewart returned to the Womens WorldTour but would retire at the end of the following year with no further notable successes to her name.Pernille Mathiesen of Denmark retired halfway through 2022 citing her mental health. In six years as a pro, Mathiesen rode for Jumbo-Visma, Team Sunweb and Cofidis, with top results including a podium finish at both the Madrid Challenge (the predecessor to the Vuelta Femenina) and the Thringen Ladies Tour. In her retirement statement, she wrote, It is now time to find happiness in other things in life.As for third-placed Anna-Leeza Hull, she now lives in New Zealand and has studied Clinical Exercise Physiology. After dabbling in the continental circuit, she retired from bike racing.Mens under-23 road raceTim de Waele/Corbis via Getty ImagesNorway played a blinder in the mens under-23 road race, finishing with three riders inside the top five. This included the eventual race winner Sven Erik Bystrm who broke away from the pack over the final climb to take the win. Some riders to finish outside the top ten included Mads Pedersen, Mike Teunissen, Jack Haig, Fernando Gaviria and Marc Soler. The top tenSven Erik Bystrm, Norway (active on WorldTour level at Groupama-FDJ)Caleb Ewan, Australia (active on WorldTour level at Jayco-AlUla)Kristoffer Skjerping, Norway (active on domestic level as staff and rider)Tiesj Benoot, Belgium (active on WorldTour level at Visma-Lease a Bike)Sondre Holst Enger, Norway (retired since 2020)Iuri Filosi, Italy (retired since 2021)Hernando Bohrquez, Colombia (active on domestic level)Ilya Davidenok, Kazakhstan (serving doping ban until 2028)Silvio Herklotz, Germany (retured since 2018)Mathieu van der Poel, Netherlands (active on WorldTour level at Alpecin-Deceuninck)Sven Erik Bystrm is a slightly enigmatic talent at the WorldTour level. It was never quite certain what kind of rider he was he was deemed a bit of a Swiss Army Knife and would settle into an all-round domestique role at first Katusha, then UAE Team Emirates. His only senior win has come in the form of a national road race title for Norway in 2020. Bystrm worked closely with Alexander Kristoff for a number of years, and followed him across to Intermarch for the 2022 season, but moved over to Groupama this year, ending the decade-long tie they had together. The runner-up in Ponferrada, Caleb Ewan was at one point one of the best if not the best sprinter on the WorldTour. Just a year after this race, Ewan would claim his debut Grand Tour stage win at the 2015 Vuelta. It would prove to be the first of 11 Grand Tour stage successes, including five at the Tour de France. Third placed Norwegian Kristoffer Skjerping briefly rode on the WorldTour with Cannondale-Drapac before setting for racing on the Norwegian domestic scene. Skjerping rode for Uno X before retiring from the Continental level at the end of 2019 and continues to ride domestically and is a sports director for the Lillehammer CK Continental Team. The lower half of the top ten is padded out by some names that you may have forgotten about. Iuri Filosi was Italys promised hope around the mid-2010s, but only made it as far as the ProTeam level with Bardiani. He rode the 2016 Giro dItalia, but later retired with the team in 2021. Seventh place Hernando Bohrquez of Colombia rode the 2017 Vuelta for Manzana Postobon. He was then picked up by Astana for two seasons, but has fallen out of the pro peloton since then. After him, we find Kazakh Ilya Davidenok, who has had an interesting career, lets say. A couple of weeks after this race, Davidenok tested positive for anabolic androgenic steroids. This resulted in a two-year suspension, ending his newly signed contract with Astanas WorldTour team. When he returned, Davidenok was dodged by all WorldTour teams and instead had to make do with dominating central and east Asian races. He would later receive another doping ban in 2021 after an adverse sample from the 2019 Tour of Fuzhou was found. This would be retrospectively applied from 2019 up until 2028. According to his LinkedIn profile, Davidenok is now a fitness trainer in Kazakhstan.Silvio Herklotz was a much-promised German talent. Bora-Hangrohe picked him up, but an early retirement was forced upon him by a lymes disease diagnosis. He now works in business. Rounding out the top ten is Mathieu van der Poel, who needs no further desription, as were sure youre all aware of his future exploits and wardrobes filled with rainbow jerseys.Womens junior road raceThe junior womens race would be the only road race for the female youngsters. There wasnt and there still isnt an under-23 womens race. Regardless, Kim Le Court, Alexandra Manly and Katia Ragusa all participated alongside some big names who finished in the days top ten. Yes, unlike in the mens race, this top ten is stacked with riders currently at their A-game in the womens sport. The top tenAmelie Dideriksen, Denmark (active on WorldTour level at Uno X)Sofia Bertizzolo, Italy (active on WorldTour level at UAE Team ADQ)Agnieszka Skalniak-Sjka, Poland (active on WorldTour level Canyon-SRAM)Nikola Noskov, Czech Republic (active on Continental level at Cofidis)Lisa Klein, Germany (active on WorldTour level at Lidl-Trek)Greta Richioud, France (active on Continental level at Cynisca Cycling)Jeanne Korevaar, Netherlands (active on WorldTour level at Liv-AlUla-Jayco)Jelena Eri, Serbia (active on WorldTour level at Movistar)Saartje Vandenbroucke, Belgium (active on domestic level)Mathilde Cartal, France (retired)Amelie Dideriksen was a real wunderkind in the womens peloton. By the time the World Championships in 2014 rolled around, she was already the Danish national road champion at the elite level. For context, she was 18 years old at the time. Dideriksens sprint victory in Ponferrada spelled great things to come, and she went on to take a surprise victory at the 2016 World Championships in the womens road race. This catapulted her to stratospheric levels, but she never quite lived up to the hype once expected of her as an early-blooming rider and hasnt won a Womens WorldTour event since 2018. That said, she is still on the Womens WorldTour and has just signed a new contract with Cofidis for the years to come. The silver medal went to UAE Team ADQs Sofia Bertizzolo, a stage winner on last years Tour de Romandie Fminin. The Italian has also finished on the podium of womens quasi-Monument Trofeo Alfredo Binda. Bronze medallist from ten years ago, Agnieszka Skalniak-Sjka has a handful of wins to her name. She also rode in support of her countrywoman and teammate Kasia Niewiadoma at the recent Tour de France Femmes.Just off the podium in the junior race a decade ago, Czech rider Nikola Noskov is still kicking about at the top level of cycling. She hasnt won a race outside of the Czech Republic since 2017, but she was briefly picked up by SD Worx in 2021 and the cursed Zaaf project in 2023. She now rides for Cofidis.Lisa Klein is perhaps the most recognisable name on this list. The Lidl-Trek rider since won two Baloise Ladies Tour titles and became a real staple of the Womens WorldTour towards the end of the 2010s and early 2020s. Seventh place Jeanne Korevaar is a solid helper with one Belgium Tour victory to her name while Serbias Jelena Eri has won two stages of the Baloise Ladies Tour as well as 17 Serbian national titles in both the elite road race and time-trial.Saartje Vandenbroucke was Belgiums highest finisher in this race, but she hasnt raced on the WorldTour since 2019. Tenth placed Mathilde Cartal, on the other hand, doesnt have a single pro result registered online since early 2015.Mens junior road raceTim de Waele/Corbis via Getty ImagesThe mens junior road race was open to riders under the age of 19. In 2014, Stevie Williams, Eddie Dunbar, Dani Martnez, Michael Storer and Jai Hindley all took part in the race, however none of them cracked the top ten despite their WorldTour pedigree these days. Instead, a young German by the name of Jonas Bokeloh outsprinted the pack in a hectic rush to the line after the breakaway was caught just 1km from the finish line. The top tenJonas Bokeloh, Germany (retired since 2019)Alexandr Kulikovskiy, Russia (retired since 2020)Peter Lenderink, Netherlands (retired since 2018)Edoardo Affini, Italy (active on WorldTour level at Visma-Lease a Bike)Magnus Bak Klaris, Denmark (active on Continental level at Airtox-Carl Ras)Izidor Penko, Slovenia (retired since 2018)Lucas Eriksson, Sweden (active on ProTeam level at Tudor Pro Cycling)Lorenzo Fortunato, Italy (active on WorldTour level at Astana Qazaqstan)Lo Dans, France (active on Continental level at CIC U Nantes Atlantique)Sjoerd Bax, Netehrlands (arrive on WorldTour level at UAE Team Emirates)Frankfurter Jonas Bokeloh was just 18 when he took the junior title, continuing a German gold rush at the 2014 championships. After winning the rainbow bands, Bokeloh moved to SEG Racing, one of the most promising development teams of the 2010s. For context, the team also brought through Fabio Jakobsen, Kaden Groves, Jordi Meeus and Alberto Dainese during its prime years. Bokeloh didnt quite hit the ground running at the elite level, however. He only scored two wins following his year in the rainbow jersey, one at the Baltic Chain Tour and one at the Trofej Umag. The German eventually retired halfway through the 2019 season while at the third-division Team Hrinkow Advarics Cycleang squad. The second and third placed finishers, Russias Alexandr Kulikovskiy and Dutchman Peter Lenderink, have also both retired, in 2020 and 2018 respectively. In fourth, we have Edoardo Affini, a more familiar name to many. Now a mainstay at Visma-Lease a Bike, Affini is the newly crowned European time-trial champion. The Italian has been up there in Grand Tour stages and has supported some of the biggest riders in the world en route to WorldTour success.Behind him in Ponferrada ten years ago was Denmarks Magnus Bak Klaris. Also swept up by SEG Racing after his stellar 2014 season, Klaris never quite reached the highs expected of him. A junior Paris-Roubaix winner, the Danes best results at the elite level have come this year with a top five overall at the Tour of Istanbul. At least hes still riding, unlike the podium finishers. You can find him at the Airtox-Carl Ras team nowadays. The rest of the top ten is a mix of current pros and some talents that never quite broke through. Slovenias Izidor Penko retired in 2018 just after winning a medal in the under-23 category at the European Championships. Lucas Eriksson currently rides for Tudor Pro Cycling and rode Strade Bianche earlier this year. Lorenzo Fortunato is the only Grand Tour stage winner in this top ten, while Lo Dans now rides for a domestic French team sponsored by supermarket Super U. Rounding out the top ten is Sjoerd Bax who rode as domestique for Tadej Pogaar at the 2023 Tour of Flanders and has just signed with ProTeam Q36.5 for next year.
